I'm actually halfway through watching the last LFA prelims so will catch that fight tonight hopefully.

He looked decent. He’s a very technical striker and his opp did a good job crowding him and making it ugly. You’ll see Jamal (it’s how you pronounce his name . Just easier that way) wrestle with him and even hit a god damn beautify of a hip throw smashing ol boy face first into the canvas.

Opponent was no slouch. He coaches wrestling at notre dame and His one loss as an ammy was to the only guy Jamal couldn’t finish. (And that guy was a high level jits/wrestler with good striking Chael Sonnen personally scouted and flew into Portland to fight Jamal after putting out a call on his podcast for the best ammy lightweights in the country to step up and fight our guy)

Very impressive. I'll want to see a slight step up before I put him top 25 but he's definitely going on the radar. Stayed calm when Abbasov was throwing some pretty good spinning shit

Our big talks about him as a coaching staff are around getting him tough, winnable fights. We’ve got the contacts to get him into a big league so he needs to be experienced and ready for it when the call comes

Ansar Khamzaev, 19yo FW is considered a good prospect in Kill Cliff

Gustavo Pintos

Country - Uruguay
Weight Class - Featherweight
Age : 33
Promotion - Samurai Fight House
Team - AZ Team
Record : 8-0

This guy is a very late starter, he's kind of old but he didn't have his first MMA fight until he was 30 and he seems to be making up for lost time.

When I saw him booked against Omar Arteaga I figured he was being brought in as a sacrificial lamb for a guy who was signed by GFL but not drafted and one of the better thought of prospects in the region.

Then when the fight started Pintos takes the centre of the cage and looks solid and Arteaga isn't sure how to get in on him and I'm thinking this guy might actually be a challenge. Then Arteaga does try to come in and Pintos absolutely pieces him up with fast, accurate and straight boxing combos and starts to pressure him and I'm thinking this guy is actually good. Then Arteaga tries to take him down but ends up getting taken down himself and being hit with ground and pound and finished and obviously I'm feeling very positive about him by this point.

Obviously time isn't on his side so he needs to get a move on but he hasn't got many MMA miles on him so who knows?

I wouldn't usually put someone in after their pro debut but I loved the look of this guy and he's had an extensive ammy career having had 25 fights in the last three and a bit years so he clearly loves to get in there and get himself some experience.

Hugely impressive pro debut. Looks an excellent striker with extremely fast kicks he can throw in combination at various levels with accuracy. Seems very athletic and hard to take down. Even when opponent got deep on him his hips and balance looked great and he was the guy getting the throws. Stuffed later takedowns with ease and was throwing spinning back fists while on the ground which is certainly fun even if I'm not sure how effective it is. Hit all three levels with a trio of kicks for a beautiful KO.

Can't wait to see more of him as he looks fun as fuck and come on, Samba Sima is a cool ass name.

An Uruguaian? Cool

MMA is getting more and more popular in here. Gaston Reyno is an amazing ambassador in that country.

He's a kickboxer. He transitioned a few years ago to MMA and he's mostly fought in Uruguay and there aren't many events there which is why he doesn't have many fights. Combate Global was interested in him a few years ago, but it didn't work out.

Promotion - Cage Warriors

Record : 6-0

Amateur career wasn't actually all that impressive but adaptation to the pros has been superb. Finished every one of his pro fights impressively with a variety of KO's and subs. Very fast, bounces in and out of range, gets pressure on well to get his opponents where he wants them and throws with good accuracy. Turned pro late so probably needs to get into the UFC sooner rather than later but next stop might well be a Cage Warriors title.

Luis Ivan Rodriguez

Country - Mexico
Weight Class - Flyweight
Age : 25
Promotion - LUX Fight League
Team - UFC PI Mexico
Record : 9-1

Yet another Mexican flyweight and fast improving kid who looks better every time I see him. Lost when he was quite inexperienced against possibly the best LATAM champ who hasn't moved onto a bigger promotion in Jorge Calvo but since selected to train at the Mexico City PI and has been on an absolute roll since then, slicing through people in the first round. In his last fight he easily subbed recent title challenger Alexandro Bravo, showcasing impressive back takes and relentless early attacking of chokes and then next logical step would seem to be a rematch with Calvo for the title and if he can get that done then surely the UFC beckons.
He is very good. Agree on Georgie, too. He was on a tear in LUX. Georgie vacated the title and Luis Ivan is the new champ. which he won when he beat Alexandro Bravo. Georgie vacating the title means he was signed somewhere. I wouldn't be surprised if he followed Edgar Delgado's path to OKTAGON or somewhere.

Are you still keeping tabs on Hecher Sosa by any chance? He's done with FCR as they stripped him of the title. He's moved on completely to WOW waiting for the call for DWCS or the UFC. He's fighting Yaman Mjahed for the WOW title. Wild of to throw Yaman to the wolves as he's one of the most beloved fighters in Spain and he's still starting his career as a pro.

I do watch Hecher whenever he fights. He's one of the dudes I like but I kind of suspect he's gonna struggle in the UFC.
