BJJ - 1.5 Hours

Got to the gym tonight for some jiu-jitsu & my back held up ok. It was a little tight in a couple of positions but overall I think it's ok. Felt good to get on the mats.

BJJ - 1 Hour

Made it to the gym in the morning today. Been a while since I was able to roll with the morning crew. Reviews a knee slice pass (same once form last night) so I was glad to get to continue drilling that & trying to pick up some additional details on head positioning, etc.. Then had 3-4 hard 5-minute rolls. Good stuff.

BJJ - 1.5 Hours

worked a pressure closed-guard pass today, then I got to work on it in sparring. 30 minutes of sparring, really worked and smashed some blue & white belts tonight. Have to do that sometimes to keep them in line. Worked guard passes and mount control from top, finished with chokes from mount only. Pulled guard & swept then repeated. Conditioning isn't where it should be so in the last round & got smashed by a really good white belt after getting a sub. Was good to have to work on defense & survive when I'm tired. All in all, nice evening of training.

Crazy busy over the last week with family stuff. Felt good to get in the gym today. I reset the weights back a bit, took my time today & made sure my technique for each lift was on point. Everything felt good, no injuries or joint weirdness. The bumper plates at my gym are in KG's so its just easier to deadlift in KG. I'm a little disappointed there are no factional plates, the smallest I can increment is 10KG.

BJJ - 2 Hours

Got to BJJ today, 1 hour nogi, 1 hour Gi. Felt good to get back on the mats. Was laid up all weekend with a gout attack in my hip. Sucked ass. I think things will be better once I get settled into the new meds & shit but right now its frustrating.

Decent workout this morning, squats felt light, quick & easy. Bench was really bad. Just nothing in my left arm, not sure why. Couldn't get 5 reps at 175. I think its because I tweaked my neck at BJJ last week. If it isn't 1 fucking thing its another. Deadlifts were also light & easy. Kept everything tight & did all reps as singles to make sure I don't fuck anything up.

2nd workout of the day today & I think that contributed to my poor performance. I was tired after warmups lol. Got smashed a bit but I'm sure its good for me.

Squats felt good today, Press was a mess. Still struggling with my left arm for some reason. I have a slight pinch in my neck/shoulder blades. Hopefully I'll make it to the chiropractor + massage today. So pressing 5x85 pounds was hard. And that makes me sad. Deadlifts were decent. 130KG (286lb) felt heavy, but I didn't struggle with the lift. Kept everything tight & didn't injure myself, so that's good.

You own that beach dont let some have beens try to take it from you. Ownership is basically the only true form of freedom we have so if you don't make you claim and enforce it you'll be playing shuffleboard at the retirment community instead of volleyball at the beach

Squats felt good, deadlifts felt good, bench felt like shit. As soon as I unracked 135 my left shoulder started hurting. Really weird. I tried to close grip 95 after that, but it also hurt. Bench seems to be the only thing that's bothering the left shoulder, so I'll just lay off bench for a week or so & see if it fixes itself. Would really love to have a week without injury.

Decent workout. Squats felt good, still no pressing strength in my left arm. No clue why. It doesn't hurt day to day. Even though I got through the 3 sets of 5 @ 95 pounds, technique was sloppy, I was getting twisted & having trouble locking out my left arm. So should probably come off the "weight" until I can do it cleanly. Fucking 95 pounds? I strict pressed 225 in 2014....
 
I had hoped the 95 was with kilo plates.


That volleyball been stealing your gains. Better hammer some double bacon cheeseburgers and get back after it?
