My 2 y.o. niece sees ghosts

My daughter talked to my wifes dead grandma whom she never met and hadnt seen a picture of.

When my daughter was around 3 she saw my aunt on the ceiling. My aunt passed away a few months prior. She kept pointing to the ceiling, and couldn't believe that I didn't see her too. "You don't see her?! She's RIGHT THERE. You don't see her?!!!" while pointing.

It was in the early evening before we went to sleep. I was a firm nonbeliever until that happened.

My mom told me about shit that happened to her, but I never believed in it.

I actually was just about to post that. There are a lot of instances of kids, and also seemingly pets, seeing things that adults just couldn't see.

I have a friend who has had some out-of-body experiences. For a long time she didn't understand what these experiences were and referred to them as her "weird dreams." She told me a story about how one time this happened to her. She was asleep in her room and she "dreamed" that she walked into the living room and sat down in a chair and that her dog started freaking out and barking at her. After she woke up, her roommate was like, "The weirdest thing happened. The dog was just chilling and then jumped up and started barking at the chair like someone was sitting there."

The fuck?
I want to experiance out of body stuff. I wonder how far I can travel.

I've seen strange things and people I believe claim to have seen strange things. It's hard to tell where the line is between dream, hallucination, unexplainable paranormal experience, etc.

I just hope I dont end up on the ceiling after I die.

Why do you think your aunt end up there?

Me too. I actually have a few books on the subject and have made some half-hearted attempts to make it happen but no luck yet.

From what I understand though, OBEs can be pretty enigmatic experiences. It's not always exactly like moving around in the regular world.

A common thing in our country is a ghost of a young lady inside the Men's room.

If OBE is true the other Paranormal must be true as well and that will make OBE dangerous as your body can get taken over.

Some weird shit has been happening recently at home. A few months ago the light was on in the loft upstairs when I woke up. I am always the last to go to sleep, and I shut off everything religiously.

A few weeks ago I woke up around 4am because I heard people talking. It was the tv, but I knew I turned it off. Woke up my wife, and asked her if she got up and turned the tv on. Nope. So I got up and did a sweep of the house to make sure no one broke in. Nothing. I go to turn the tv off again, and it was on On Demand.

Last night the cat was going apeshit. She was running from one hiding spot to the next to the next hissing at nothing for about half an hour.

Some things have been happening at my mom's place too. She's convinced that it's my uncle, who passed in November.

Again, I don't really buy into it, but I refuse to dismiss it. I'm not afraid of it so I don't really give a shit either way. If the paranormal does exist, it hasn't brought any harm to me.

Eh I was once tortured by some sort of strange entity or force I discovered inside another person's mind/soul. Is normal.

Well my daughter was laying on her back at the time so maybe she was making herself visible.

I've heard that idea, but I don't think that there is any actual evidence for it. No one who claims to have actually had OBEs has ever reported anything like this happening.

Regarding your statement, "If OBE is true the other paranormal stuff must be true as well. . ." I'd say not necessarily. Each phenomena must be judged on its own according to the evidence that there is for it. I mean, to use an outlandish example, if ghosts exist does that have to mean that fairies also exist? (And yes, some people actually do believe in fairies.)

As a skeptic, I generally do not believe in ghosts/spirits or paranormal stuff. But, as an agnostic, I also think that there is no way to firmly disprove that there are no ghosts.

The human brain is the most powerful drug on Earth. I do believe that most cases of paranomal occurrences are simply hallucinations. Its not as if the person was on LSD and tripping balls, but simply the mind playing tricks on you. Late at night, I've had the feeling that someone is there, or something is off, but after a moment, I realize its my own mind playing games. Once I regain composure, I know that nothing is there and it was simply my own mind getting excited and I was giving myself the feeling and not any external stimuli.
People that fervently believe are more likely to see "ghosts" BC they want to see "ghosts". Your mind gives you what you want 99% of the time, so if you want to see a ghost, you mind will allow you to believe you saw a ghost.

But I can't say that it's completely impossible that apparitions exist, because its impossible to know exactly what happened in every scenario. There are a few things out there that have no scientific explanation, yet

When I was a Kid me and my mom used to sleep over at my cousins place I was like 9 years old during that time.

My Cousins wanted us to sleep over while their dad bangs another chick in a different city because they have been seeing lots of weird shit.

My Mom was never a believer in this ghosts thing but she thought all the family problems made my cousins stressed out that it makes them see things.

When we stayed there my Mom said she felt some entities entering the room during the night.

And in the morning I saw a man dressed like a gennie and my cousin got scared but I just stood there believing its his dad fooling around in some costume.

Lots of weird things going on lights turning on an off by it self etc.

Years Later I found out that the subdivision was formerly an Ancient Filipino village and burial ground.

So you and your cousin both saw it. At least you had someone to confirm you weren't just seeing shit. Anything recent?

My family has stories for days, and they almost always involve a dead family member.

As for the OP, ghosts are real. I've shared my one (And only one that I care to ever have) experience with anything like this that turned me from someone that was not only a science buff and skeptic into a person that simply has no explanation for witnessing something shooting off his desk off it's own.

People here will think I'm full of shit and like I said when I signed up here and made my original thread, I can completely understand that. If I hadn't seen what I'd seen with my own two eyes, I'd call bullshit instantly on any absurd story like I just said. I don't blame anyone for that. But I can tell you right now, it's real. Four years ago, I experienced it for myself.

Couldn't you have just been experiencing a mental issue or hallucination of some type?

Every single experience anyone has ever had like this could be a hallucination or mental issue. That's why it's so difficult to confirm anything like this.

We definitely know that mental health issues such as hallucinations and delusional thought processes are real. Falling back into labeling experienced as supernatural seems pretty regressive. Why not just say, "I imagined that" and move on? The brain is incredibly powerful, we only perceive reality because of it. So for whatever reason that it just "short circuits" briefly, why not just accept it and move on?
