More high level kickboxers should get the Pereira experience!!!!

Alex fought that Greek guy who was a grappler early on, and Jan tried to grapple him. It's not much of a "Pereira Experience" lol.

MVP is already getting it too. He just fought Holland, who can't grapple. It wasn't even that exciting either.
Ah yes, the infamous "Greek guy", people say he's the Greek Fedor and that his GNP is even more lethal. Same goes with Jan - people talked about his Polish power, but they should talk about his amazing grappling and wrestling even though he got wrestlefucked by boxer Gustafsson.

As a man who was addicted to K1 early 2000's, it's good to see kickboxing rising to the top in MMA. It's not that there are no wrestlers, it's stand up fighters rising to the top.

There was so much grapling dick sucking for the past years with the jiu jitsu marketing that MMA is proving that knocking your opponent out is still the most efective way to win a fight.

That 90% of the fights end up on the ground bullshit comes from law inforcement statistics because they want to handcuff people and the most effective way is on the ground.

When you look at street fighting videos, everybody starts swinging and althought jiu jitsu is the martial art with the most practicioneirs, how many times do you see it being used on the streets?

There are more strikers as champions than your typical grappler.

My point is, bring wrestlers to Pereira all you want but with takedown defense and training with Teixeira, he will keep knocking them out.

You're all sooking about no wrestlers, but there aren't any heavy grapplers in the top 15 at LHW apart from Ank, so who do you want him to fight?

Like I said in another post, Nikita is probably the closest to some heavy wrestler with all his subs, but he got subbed by Jan, who apparently can't grapple now, despite having as many subs as KO.

Everyone can grapple somewhat, bro.

The Pereira situation was unique in that Adesanya had already cleared the division and there were no compelling challengers left. Besides his history with Adesanya that was an important factor in why he was given a quick road.

The same can't be said about WW currently. Belal, Shavkat, JDM and Ian Garry are all young fresh contenders with star potential of their own (apart from Belal obviously). They may try to give MVP an easy road but I don't think he gets to jump these guys unless he gets a viral KO or something.

Easy way to create stars/GOAT candidates that's guaranteed to put on exciting fights.

I would love for them to give MVP the Pereira experience and give him someone like Wonderboy, maybe JDM then a title shot if Leon still the champ by then. He's 37 but still has plenty in the tank and his fights keep you at the edge of your seat since he's a dynamic striker..

Bring in more hard hitting kick boxers and just make them fight stand up dudes.

Guys like Conor, Izzy or O'malley fought wrestlers but UFC should stop doing that and go full Pereira experience and just produce high reel finishes!
so you want turn mma into kickboxing. why not just watch kickboxing?

They tried with Gokhan Saki, it didn't work out.

MVP wasn't good enough to become Bellator champ, it wouldnt be a good look if the UFC were to push him into a title fight at the age of 37. Might as well sign Douglas Lima and keep him away from wrestlers if you want the sport to be that much of a joke.

Jan is the second best grappler of an incredibly weak division in 2024. The UFC 10 years ago had Jones, DC, Rumble, Gustafsson, Glover, Bader, Phil Davis, all in their prime (plus a young Cory Anderson who later wrestlefucked both Jan and Glover). Any of those guys would easily run this current division.

yes he was
Neither he nor Wonderboy have any actual accomplishments in Kickboxing. They're Karate guys, and very skilled no doubt, but they're not high level Kickboxers considering they never competed anywhere worth noting.

Could they have competed at the level Saki, Israel, Mirko or Alex did? Maybe, but they didn't.

Exactly. Noobs acting like that style would work in real high level kickboxing lol MVP was KOd because of a leg kick

When a younger Jan fought a 200lb Adesanya, he wasn't completely gassed out like he was against Pereira at high altitude.

Jan had Pereira down all 3 rounds. If he had cardio like he did against Adesanya, he would've been able to do more work from the top to seal the win instead of just lying there.

-Altitude cuts both ways. Alex was also tired, so by your logic, Jan benefitted from a tired Alex who should have been easier to take down and submit or gnp.

-Jan got takedowns in the second and third, but did absolutely nothing with them. Jan offered some decent offense on the feet, but it was all Alex. That's why he got the nod for rounds 2 and 3.

-Jan threatened with a rnc in the first, but Alex defended, fought the hands, and kept it from getting under the chin. It wasn't close. Alex also threatened with a guillotine standing.

-Altitude is factor, but moreso, Jan just underestimated Alex's ability to defend and make him work for position. Jan executed a piss poor gameplan and gassed himself out.

-I'll entertain your mythical fighter, "sea level Blachowicz" for a second here. In this fantasy matchup at sea level, Alex would also be less tired and would have more pop in his shots. He would have also been able to defend takedowns better. I'll concede that sea level Blachowicz would have the edge and likely win over altitude Alex, if it makes you feel better.
