Multiplat Monster Hunter Wilds "We Are So Back" Hype Thread

Not sure if sarcasm but doing two hunts per week equates to 5 - 15 minutes playtime...per week.
And there’s nothing wrong with that. Wilds isn’t going anywhere. Look at how many people are just starting world almost a decade later. Consistency is the key. People who play an hour a week will still have hundreds of hours logged in the long run and it will prevent burnout. This is also my plan. I’ll probably spend 30 hours this month in wilds and then afterwards maybe only 5 or so a month.

got all the optional quests done and 2 of the 3 elder dragons. teostra is left. gonna do that now, i think i'm getting pretty close to iceborne and master rank shit.

the grind for mats for gear upgrades is starting to get real. apparently when you hit endgame the grind is insane.

teostra down. carted twice due to some explodey one-shot shit. but then i straight whooped its ass. now to move along.

xenojiva down. cool fight but was easier than it looked like it was gonna be. oh shit credits are rolling. guess it's time for iceborne. the tutorial is over. it's time for some real hunting!

Was still enjoying this but probs need to put it away for a while, the endgame is pretty barebones atm. Kept expecting new monsters to appear but there's basically only 1 big endgame boss.

You’re not the only one to say this but when you look at the facts there’s actually only a couple of monsters less than there last few releases. It makes me wonder why so many feel this way and my guess is that there’s two reasons for this. One is monsters die very easily so peoples playtime in the endgame is much shorter and therefore makes them feel like there should be more. Another thing this game does is throw a bunch of easy monsters at you in both low and high rank. I think the latter is the biggest reason people feel the monster count is low. IMO they did a poor job with the distribution. There were way too many high rank monsters that were easier than the second half of the low rank story. I think they needed less of those and a couple more endgame monsters.

They got rid of that? Blasphemy.
Yeah they did sadly. In fact they no longer have a main hub. You just have a small camp in each region. It’s kind of annoying. I prefer having a large town memorized instead of going back and forth between different camps. It seems more confusing this way

Hub is getting added in a title update. Game definitely released unfinished. Fairly certain they don't release MH games without gathering hubs.

Yeah maybe my expectations were too high but just felt like I got more out of the base game in World, was expecting a couple of elder dragons to turn up in end game but I'll definitely be returning for updates and dlc.

alright some of these early monsters in MHW on master rank aren't quite the punching bags that they were in high and low rank. they added some nasty status effects that are starting to rustle my jimmies.

Please bring back the canteen. I don’t want to farm food ingredients. Plus, I miss watching the palico chefs cook up a meal.
What the fuck? I thought I just needed to progress more to unlock it. I’m only at rank 3.

Have not been able to give this game anywhere near the time it deserves. Have maybe 10 hours total gameplay.

Got a new puppy last week and video games are not in the cards. I feel like if I turn my back she's definitely going to pee on the rug. She just turned 8 weeks so she's got a long way before I can trust her enough to let my guard down around. Elden Ring Nightreign isn't to far down the road, so worried the pull of my next game in the schedule might be a strong pull if I can't get invested in MH.

Just hit the 20 hour mark and I already have level 8 artian weapon at HR 45. Definitely feels shorter than other games but I think it’s because there’s so many quality of life updates that make everything streamlined. Monsters have significantly less health too, especially the frenzied ones. I laughed out loud when one died in under 90 seconds to a group I was with. Overall I think I’d score it an 8. I don’t think it’s on level with Rise or World yet but with the expansion it may surpass them. I do think the monster fights themselves are the best they’ve ever been. A lot of cool move sets and I enjoy the diversity of body types. World was great too but there were so many brute wyverns or whatever you call the therapod body in these games. Will put a few more hours in this weekend and then probably take a long break for Khazan.

Got the best greatsword and charge blade I can from the Artian shit. Pretty much done with the game until they add content. At the end it's basically farming tempered Arkveld ad nauseam and depending on the map, he's a cocksucker

Is that the 8 star tempered arkveld? I'm not seeing anything past that so far.

I just fought the two fire gorilla things. I actually like how this game is just fight after fight. I don’t have to platform some giant monster or man siege weapons. Much prefer this approach to World.

I think what makes this so much easier is the wound mechanic. Just hitting it stuns the monster and then it’s GG’s when you break it.

Still enjoying it quite a bit though. Been carted a few times from being careless and getting hit with a huge attack but yeah, I can notice a big difference between this and World. I remember even Diablos kicking my ass for a good bit.
