Modern MMA absolutely sucks

All those people with 1000+ post complaining every year but still keep on watching.
Its a miracle.

Nope. I watch maybe 1 or 2 fights a year. I used to watch 5 or 6 full cards a year. I have no idea who 95% of the fighters are these days. The entire company’s business model has gone straight down the toilet.

i find it very interesting and curious to understand the marketing strategy - their cards now have basically unknown talent headlining a card while a guy like arlovkskli is on the prelims.... i guess it helps build stars or puts people to the test...

Arlovski's fights are horrible to watch these days. He's basically sparring out there. I'm not sure why they haven't cut him.

Many sick individuals on here

I wouldn't say that. There are probably a few bad apples here, but what makes it so strange is I think most of the people here are very cool people and the discussion would be much different in real life. I don't think it is really anything about the people, but the environment that lends to such negativity, but I could very well be a sick individual myself.

I’m fine without the theatrics. I just want to see good fights. For the most part, there continue to be some great fights even when they’re un ranked. Road to UFC had some insane KO’s.

I guess if you’re watching to be entertained by Lazers, music, pyrotechnics, confetti and so forth, I can understand your disappointment.

I watch for god fights. So I’m a happy camper

unknown talent headliners? Maybe they’re unknown to you because you’re a casual. I can’t think of any “no name” headliners.

arlovski is old news.

Uriah Faber explained the idea behind putting a guy like him or Arlovski on the prelims, officially they get more viewers on the prelims than the main card so personally it is great exposure to be the featured prelim over a non main event fight on the main card. For the UFC they hope the excitement and performance of the big name will tip some people over the edge on their decision to pay for the main card or not. While also realizing a lot of people just can't spend $80 so putting that big name on the prelims gives them a good UFC experience as well.

They have not really done a refresh in years. Dana and Co have been resting on their laurels and focusing on stupid stuff like powerslap.

can you blame them though when they keep making more money every year? why up the production when mediocrity is selling like hot cakes.

The UFC would be better with rules changes. The rules against knees to grounded opponents and no 12-6 elbows lead to a lot of the painful to watch delay tactics that we've seen more recently

The amount of fighters that opt to stay in the protected positions and bleed time getting kind of out of hand

Love seeing this threads since I get a chance to add more people to my ignore list.Welcome, TS!

If you don't like MMA, or the UFC, anymore, kindly fuck off. No one wants to hear you complain. Just suck it up and move on, find something more productive to do with your time instead of whining about it on an internet forum

I mean, it really helps to watch the fights to know who the fighters are...

I think it doesn't quite capture the old feel anymore. Mainly because the overly produced UFC product we've gotten has sucked all the life out of the sport.

Andrei's so shit to watch he's on the prelims for free cards.

C'mon man why it gotta be like that. Who doesn't like former UFC HW champ Andrei back in the UFC still fighting at 44 years old and it's free. How can you complain? Squint your eyes a bit when you watch and you might even feel 10 years younger that's a free time machine.
