Modern MMA absolutely sucks

It's clearly evolving, they added 4k cameras last year......

Don't forget how deliberately stupid they are when you try to have an actual discussion about the UFC's shortcomings.

"(X) is something that's happening and here are more details on the (X) problem."

"Yeah? Justify (something not even remotely related to the X that has been described to them multiple times)!"

"For fuck's sake."

"Why would someone be upset now and not four years ago????"

Mindless deflection.

Mindless deflection you backed out of when you couldn't back something up Sherbro. There was never a time when the roster wasn't full of regional level to talent. That hasn't changed.

The fighter personalities, strangely, seem to be more corporatized so it's gotten harder to root for one over another. There's less risk taking in the production than there used to be.

The Reebok deal and subsequent ban on fighters doing their own in-ring promotion was a part of this but I think it's mostly just Dana himself.

Half joking, but maybe spending less time here might help. Internet forums all have a heavy negative bias regardless of the topic and make anything start feeling depressing. Considering you have analyzed MMA down to lighting as a factor impacting your enjoyment it is probably good to dial down the exposure a bit.

There are so many events just within UFC these days that it can feel like a chore trying to keep up with them all, maybe just go back to watching the PPVs once a month.

They have not really done a refresh in years. Dana and Co have been resting on their laurels and focusing on stupid stuff like powerslap.

The skill levels of fighters has never been higher. The match making has never been better outside of the title scene, which has also been problematic in the past. Regional fighters have never had more opportunities than they have had the last few years to get eyes on their abilities and prove themselves. There has never been as much MMA readily available as there is now.

The product will never be perfect, and it never has been. I'm happy I have all these opportunities to watch MMA often. It's light years beyond what it used to be. The sport may be harder to follow as it's never been more active nor had a deeper roster on it's main stage, but I rarely see that as an issue. Just be more selective in what you watch and follow the fighters who resonate with you.

I don't need personalized trunks, fireworks, a huge screen with some mediocre graphics and a ramp to enjoy fighters or fights.
Everything u said is true imo, but the sport feels like a sport, the atmosphere is different.

And that's subjective. I can't tell you that you're wrong. I can only tell you that I don't agree with you.

I just watch my UFC VHS tapes from UFC 1 - 22 and Ultimate Ultimate 1995 and Ultimate Ultimate 1996 and Ultimate Japan and Ultimate Brazil ... I have all those on VHS

And I enjoy my UFC DVDs from UFC 35 - 168.

I like sherdog much more than the actual fights these days. I still like MMA, but its not what it once was. The UFC apex shows remind me of WWF in 1995 when it was down and on its knees

It's not even the sport they hate

It's the platform that allows them to see ~90% of the best athletes in their sport that they hate

Sherdog is a weird toxic f'd up place

It really is mind bending to think about. People that claim to love the sport the most come to this forum solely dedicated to the sport and end up debating about who hates it more and labeling anyone that likes it a disgusting casual or shill working for the company. When I go out to live events or even bars it is the complete opposite, everyone is just excited to watch the fights and have a good time with others excited to watch the fights. No one ever talks about how much Dana has taken from them or their fight for justice over fighter pay.
