No one was talking about Islam before you brought it up, but yes, appeals towards having a commune of people coming together to share in and with each other is going to have appeals that sound largely communist. I think the cognitive dissonance you're suffering is in the different definition we've come to expect from failed and corrupted communist applications, as opposed to the idealistic point of communism. If you looked at the latter, the connection is pretty obvious

Mormons have to donate something like 5-10% of their yearly income. im unsure of exact percentages for other denominations of Christianity.

Islam is just as dumb. having to pray 6 or so times a day regardless of what youre doing? avoiding pork because of long-outdated beliefs of food sanitation? and lets not even get into "local variants" of beliefs like Bacha Bazi or female genital mutilation. one of the main reasons liberals wont criticize Islam is because its mostly non-white people who believe in it. but i dont have any such reservations.

i am not a fan of any Abrahamic religion.
