unless your a fighter and knows what it feels like to get hit by boxing gloves AND mma gloves dont post here thinking you know what your talking about, and i'm not just talking about go out and grab some gloves and try it, i'm talking about real fighters, who train with these things everyday because unless your a fighter, the reality is you dont have a clue
PLease let this thread die!!

Rather fight tyson with mma gloves, boxing gloves cause more long term damage to the brain i.e. better to get knocked out quick with mma gloves than get hit 50 times with boxing gloves (better for the health of your brain anyway)
Guess you missed the fire to the 32 story steel framed scyscraper in Madrid 2 years ago. The fire burned for 20 hours. The building didn't come crashing down into dust. They put a crane on the roof a week later to start rebuilding it. Pretty strong after a 20 hour fire to support a crane.
1)WTC's burned for 1.5 hours.
2)The first building hit....was the second to fall.
3)You still didn't comment on how they fell so fast. Same speed as if falling through air.
4)You still didn't comment how the WTC 7 fell without getting hit by a plane.......5 hours after the first 2 fell.
5)No steel framed building in the history of the world we live in has ever fell because of fires. Yet we get 3 in one day to fall. WTC 3, 4, 5, and 6 were right under the Twin Towers and got destroyed....yet the frames still stood. They had to be demolished. WTC 7, the newest and furtherest away from the Twin Towers turned to dust without the planes hitting them.
Looks like I'm winning this one hommie. Your turn. But before you insult me with the tin foil hat thingy, comment all those points for me will ya, without defying physics....then call me whatever you want.
I have been reading a bunch of people mentioning the gloves the fighters use in MMA and boxing. Boxers usually use somewhere between 10-14 ounce gloves while the UFC fighters use 4 ounce gloves. I just wanted to clear one thing up real quick.....
A punch will hurt WAAAAY more if you got hit by a boxing glove than a MMA glove.
Fighters wear gloves to protect THEIR hands....not the opponents face. I would rather fight a guy bare fisted, and let me wear the gloves. 3 punches into the fight, if he landed good and I didn't go out, 1) he'd have broken some bone in his hand or 2) feel like he has broken some bone in his hand and will not swing as hard anymore.
The advantage of boxing gloves in NOT in the padding. The hissing sound you hear during a boxing match when a punch is thrown is the fighters breathing when they throw, not the air deflating out of the glove from the cushion. Every trained fighter is taught to breath when he punched so not to tire as fast. Thus the hiss hiss during punches. But also with the bigger glove, it is easier to block and deflect punches in defense.
Just a little info for the masses. Joe Rogan always seem to mention the "4 ounce baby gloves" during every show but he seem to always fail to mention the smaller the glove, the less powerful the impact. None of this applies to "right on the button" punches. A couch pillow can KO someone if hit "on the button". If you would like to try it out, get both types of gloves and let someone hit you in the forehead kinda light like with each. A small punch with a boxing glove will rattle you medulla ablongata.
LAME LAME
so that building in madrid was full of hydrocarbon fuels?
again, switch from safeway brand tinfoil to reynolds wrap. you'll notice a difference immediately I suspect.
PS LAME LAME
that is ridicules.... you would rather fight someone with no gloves? bare knuckle boxing is fucking dangerous!i dont think we will ever see pro boxers fight without gloves... if we did there would never (or in a rare case) be a 12 round decision
you lose, go make more tinfoil hats
They usually spar with 14 oz gloves. Like someone said in the post, they are padded and heavier to promote endurance in the arms. In the bouts, they use 10 oz gloves, which when the hands are taped, makes them hard as rocks. None of you who have not been hit with taped up 10 oz gloves, don't have a clue. For the uneducated dude that said he don't want to watch pillow fights, you are just that, uneducated.
I don't know the real numbers to an above question about how many KO per 100 fights, but remember in boxing, the bigger gloves are better for blocking and deflecting punches. Not so much glove only defense in MMA.
No no, you can't grapple with boxing gloves. But some people on here, including most of the posters of this thread, say MMA gloves "hurt" more than boxing gloves, and that is simply NOT TRUE!!! Feel the glove, MMA is harder, Tape the hand in the glove, boxing is harder. And yes, they are heavier thus slowing down the arm when punching, but the extra stiffness makes up for that 10 times. And it is real simple, if you don't agree, you have not been hit by both. Maybe one, but not both.
I own those gloves, and they are hard as hell. More dumb statements... jesus
