MMA gloves vs Boxing gloves

you are an idiot as well, that is of course unless your 8/10oz gloves penetrate matter and directly hit the brain inside the skull.

Oebela's special 8oz matter penetrating train wrecking glove> All of our 4oz MMA gloves

They say ignorance is bliss, some times I wish I was more like the morons wondering round without a care in the world :icon_cry2

Dude, have you ever been hit by 10oz gloves?

What does cause the dizziness after you get punch hard with 10oz boxing gloves? I'm sure it's not the skull that make you feel dizzy.. Ofcourse does boxing gloves have a big impact on your brain.

It's easy to join someone else, because you don't know where we are talking about here, isn't it?

I just can't see how the original poster can be correct. It just makes sense that the heavier glove creates less damage. You see people on celebrity shows sparring with huge gloves and no one gets hurt.

maybe this graphic will help

16>10>8>4

it is not 16>4>10>8

No. You only feel like you are punching harder now that you are wearing good gloves because since they are such exceptional quality the hand is kept tight and you now have the confidence to put more power into each punch without the fear of hurting your hand.

If you just wrapped your hand well and lost your temper (but still using proper technique) punched the bag you would be punching faster, harder and do more damage.

The only reason it feels like you are punching harder is because we dont normally punch to our full power capacity with bare fists, for obvious reasons.

well, i was thinking about this this way too. it's a very good point. however i would never hit the bag with full power with wraps on only. it's impossible to hit people with full power with naked fist when you really know how to punch imo.

4 oz protection over 2inch by 2 inch
8/10oz protection over a whole hand

Both have the same kind of protection, only with mma gloves the protection is only on the part you hit with. BUT because boxing gloves are much bigger and carry more weight, the impact is bigger.

On celebrity shows they use boxing gloves with a different kind of protection. You can make 14oz with hard material, and you can make 14oz with much softer material. Ofcourse use boxing the harder material so the people going to see more KO's. Famous people don't want to get cut or their face fucked up, so they use the softer material.

I don't get it?
Where did I said 16oz hits harder then 4oz?

16oz are training gloves, they are like a sponge. My 16oz gloves aren't made from leather, but from some soft material.

Idd. Even when you are Ali, there is always a chance you hurt your wrist badly, swinging at full power.

I have hurt my thumb many times during sparring, just because I hit someone's elbow, while doing a bodypunch. Doing that punch without wraps or gloves would probally broke my thumb.

Rich Franklin hurts his hand a lot with MMA gloves. He broke his hand because he throwed a punch at full power. Boxing gloves are much safer to throw punches at full power, because it offers more protection.

I remember hearing merchant and Lampley commenting on the need for smaller gloves, so that it'll be more exciting for the fans, and they'll see more knockouts.

agree, now the question is would boxers like mike tyson be so dominant in mma gloves or with naked fists ?? take a look at this power :

my wrists hurt when i watch this

btw, what is "idd" ??

You really thought we believed the "hiss" noise was the boxing glove deflating on impact? I never once thought that, even before I ever used a boxing glove.

I'm on the fence with this one. I do know that they made the gloves larger because the lighter gloves were considered more dangerous, but then there are stories of fighters going over 20 rounds with lighter gloves.

If the larger boxing gloves are more dangerous, then why did they outlaw lighter ounced gloves in boxing?

Guess what, you just proved yourself wrong when trying to argue 10oz hits harder than 4. Go learn the basics principals of collision.

Maybe ponder this question

When a bug hits a windshield which experiences more force? the bug or the windshield?

answer forthcoming

Rather fight tyson with mma gloves, boxing gloves cause more long term damage to the brain i.e. better to get knocked out quick with mma gloves than get hit 50 times with boxing gloves (better for the health of your brain anyway)

 how bout no getting hit at all lol...

i do know for a fact that they both hurt when hit hard. actually all three do, boxing gloves , fist and mma. i do think though that the long term damage that many boxers experiance is more from repeat blows to the head rather than 1 big one. in mma you for the most part take fewer blows to the dome than in a boxing match. i do believe the brain damage would be much worse if boxers used the 4oz mma glove instead of boxing gloves. i also like to eat most types of seafood and enjoy jasmin rice over regular white rice and prefer juice over soda. (if its good juice)

MMA gloves are much more effective, doing more damage...And you should tape up the hands when wearing MMA gloves...
