Law Mitt voted yes on impeachment

Someone that once worked for Romney worked elsewhere, does that mean that anytime someone that once worked or a politician gets a new job that somehow that politician is connected to the former employee and new job?

I'm curious as to how this is supposed to work.

His rationale for the vote was perfectly reasonable. Nobody was claiming trump was innocent of the charges, it came down to whether you think that his guilt was enough to warrant removal from office. I wouldn’t have wanted Obama removed for doing the same thing to Trump, and I won’t want President Michelle Obama removed from office for something similar in 2030 so I can’t say I agree with the vote. But, I can’t fault anyone for believing exactly what Romney said.

Romney, he’s still popular in his state, he’s old enough to retire after one or two terms in the Senate and can do so having put country first. He’s got nothing to lose and ends up on the same side of the issue as the majority of Americans, which is a decent place to be politically.

I haven’t heard a lot of criticism of his stated position, just criticism of his decision to state his position rather than getting in line with the party. I don’t value any political party, but if it’s made up for people who refuse to accept dissent, it’s a failure in waiting.

Trump wasn't impeached solely on 2nd hand information. There was a phonecall where Trump directed aid to be withheld from Ukraine. And the 2nd article of impeachment was direct information.

They've tidied that up now. They made it so that fewer people will be listening to the phone calls, and they put a scare into any potential whistleblowers. Because transparency is the Hallmark of this administration. They want the American people to know what's going on, you see. Swamp = drained.

My position has NOTHING to do with me saying I agree with Romney's politics, his prior positions, his religion or anything else. I know as a former religious person many people who would lie regularly but would not lie under oath or would feel haunted if they did, thinking God would punish them for that, like he did for few other transgressions.


It is only your TDS that makes you think that for Trump, Romney should suddenly not care about swearing oaths to his God and then lying. That he should put Trump above God as the rest of you Trumpsters do.

One of 3 closest law school buddies was a Mormon (I went to his wedding/reception) and he had trouble voting for Trump because of the known NY billionaire immorality. He indicated his family felt the same. Utah did end up going for Trump, but as the most Republican enclave on Earth that shouldn't be a surprise. There was a fairly large % of the vote that went to that third party guy who I can't remember his name and won't cheat and look up. That's pretty unusual.
