Lets be real. The hype around this movie being Cruise's last (M:I) is all by design to dredge up the maximum amount of hype possible. Remember how badly the budget ballooned during COVID and the strikes? They need to make this movie seem HUGE in order to get maximum box office returns. Cruise himself has said that he wants to keep doing M:I films for as long as he is physically able, and has even referenced Harrison Ford playing Indiana Jones into his 80s.

So, although I am excited for this and will be there on day one..... I am not buying the all the hoopla about this being the "final" one. As a fan, I agree with Cruise. I want him to keep doing these as long as he is physically able.

Perhaps he can let it rest for a few years while he does some other stuff and chases an Oscar, but he'll be back.

This is probably the only movie I'm paying to see in a theater all year.

Hollywood star Tom Cruise is literally hanging by a thread – or rather, his fingertips – in his latest Mission Impossible stunt that's left fans gasping for air! The actor is seen clinging to the wing of a plane in the latest video shared by the team of Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning. And his commitment to performing his stunts is blowing everyone’s mind. Also read: Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning headed to Cannes Film Festival

Tom Cruise takes risky stunt to new heights

On Thursday, the official Instagram and X, formerly known as Twitter, handle of The Mission Impossible shared a video of the stunt, which shows Tom holding onto the wing of an airplane surrounded by strong winds.

"8000 ft with 140 mph winds. No CGI. #MissionImpossible - The Final Reckoning #FilmedForIMAX," read the caption. The video racked up more than 250,000 views in just a few hours.

The stunt, done from 8,000 ft in the air at 140 mph winds with no CGI, sees Tom holding on to the wing for his life as the plane moves at full speed.

It looks intense as hell.

I'm going to have to amend this statement because I'm probably watching the accountant 2 probably sunday or Tuesday.

I'm at a point where I believe Tom would demand to disarm a real nuclear device and some how make it happen.

The world may end due to Tom Cruise's desire to challenge himself

Got my tickets for a Saturday morning showing because this is going to be a long ass movie lol

I hope they haven't showed all of the goods from this epic plane stunt, like they did with the bike jump in the previous movie. When the bike jump finally happened in the movie it felt like I'd already seen it 200 times, and there wasn't much beyond what we'd already seen to make me say wow. I don't want it to be like that this time.

From the previous film, but it's actually kind of funny the way they react. "Are you crying?" 😂
