Chris Evans isn’t the first Captain America so that should answer your question . He’s also the closest looking Captain America in Hollywood even if he’s older now to fit the part , no one’s going to get the character like him and if you ever collected Captain America comics and Avengers you’d know that , I’ve read those comics for decades .

Because it shows acting is actually required if your doing a big expensive motion picture as opposed to a very low budget version of the same character .

You never said anything about challenges you stated no real acting is necessary which tells me you most likely can’t tell the difference between a good quality comic book based movie or you just don’t mind stupid or lesser ones bc that’s what your telling us here .

The best comic based movies have the better actors portraying a sci fi character and actually requires more talent bc it’s harder to make it believable .


Can you seriously not see a difference in Thor 1 vs Thor 3 ? To say acting doesn’t matter is silly .Lol

He is an 11 year old boyscout from 1955 who is invincible. It is not easy to make him a protagonist.

Gunn had it nailed in the opening crawl. Superman just lost a fight for the very first time. Imagine what that would put a young, superpowered, invincible person through? It was a fantastic opportunity to explore his character, how someone who had never even considered that he might lose might react when he does, but instead of doing that they plopped him in a ramped-up tanning bed and just washed what could have been a great arc down the drain.

All superhero movies could go to dtv and streaming for 7 years and i would not care.

Has any else aged out or burnt out on comic movies? I haven't watched any of the new ones in a few years, I used to love the comics and the movies used to be great.

I agree with you. It's mainly due to the MCU just pumping out content like crazy since the 2010s. At first it was cool, but when there's something all the time and it includes the heroes that you never cared for it begins to get stale. It doesn't help the the MCU has the same tone across all it's films, so once you've seen one you've seen them all. I'll always have my core favorites that I'll never miss, but for stuff like Supergirl? Eh.

Why did they give James Gunn these movies?

Watching Superman, it felt like the lead actor and director had never seen any Superman content before.

Gunn was successful with his Marvel movies and DC is desperate to catch up and succeed.
