Hot Take Missing walkouts, horrific flow, endless ads

using that ad time to do other shit while saving money on UFC

seems like I was winning there honestly

watch a fight then tend to some kids / rip a bong
repeat

Yeah the ads were way too much, its was unreal during the prelims, ad after ad after ad, I never seen so many ads in my life lol. I just kept putting the TV on mute and chatting with you guys on playbyplay, and then kept going to the kitchen during the ads just trying to kill the time, it was brutal.

This was the person in charge of ads last night for the UFC.

Idk about this everyone my age was listening to Blink 182 in like 4th and 5th grade but it was a hilarious tie in to have Travis Barker and just tons of Blink 182 for no reason

Some dude at Paramount was like hmmm what do UFC fans like. I know. Shit from 2002
You mean to tell me kids in 4th grade had actual musical taste? At that age I was hunting bugs to feed my Praying Mantis that I kept in a repurposed Alhambra water jug terrarium.

Welcome to the paramount era how did you guys like it
Honestly, the pacing was pretty bad, but some of that can be attributed to fight cancelations. Even so, I'll take shitty pacing while only having to pay $8.99 any day of the week. It sucks for sure, but is still the lesser of 2 evils when stacked up against a steep PPV price tag imo.

Blink 182 politically/culturally isn't really punk though.

There basically early 2000s pop/skate rock that's trying to appeal to millennials on nostalgia. They don't care at all about politics they just want a paycheck (which is the complete opposite of punk).

To be fair their early albums are definitely skate punk, after dude ranch came out they fired their original drummer and brought on Travis which is when they went pop

I have pirate iptv with multiview.
Whenever there were ads, i would just switch screens(one large one small) whenever ads were on.

Also did that for the enthralling womens fight.
I enjoyed it all.
Saling the high seas is fun.

Australia still gets charged ppv so I went to the Casino to watch it free and pay $17.50 AUD per drink 🤡🤡🤡

Noticed it took ages to get from the introduction to the first fight so they could squeeze as many ads as possible

Compared to shitty streams that give you maybe 10 mins before crapping out, it was heaven. Easily worth an annual subscription. I just muted the commercials. People are spoiled and just want to complain about everything.

Buffer introduced Black Beast with something about chicken wings while there was a huge beer can graphic splitting the screen with him. lol
Ya that was absolutely the worst 🤣

Also how many ads are popping up as I'm trying to post this comment.

A certain amount of ads is reasonable because you have to make money, but God damn this is getting annoying

Just wait until Elon Musk puts chips in everyone's brains, and fills 70% of our visual space with ads.

It's 1 event. Netflix put out some pretty attrotious boxing events before figuring out production too. Fox treated us like noobs and thought they had teach us how MMA worked. Paramount had some new ideas and will iron out a lot of the kinks.

brother its 2026 you are describing 2014 streams

It sucked, but there was going to have to be some kind of trade-off going away from the PPV model. Gotta make up that revenue somehow.

Commercials are nothing, they are fillers. What would you rather have absolute silence with just a random UFC background?
