Mike Tyson vs Jon Jones: The duality of fans

We get it Jon. You want people to believe you're a good Christian. Unfortunately like you said, you only try to show it when the cameras are on.

When the cameras are not rolling you're sand blasting hookers, doing hit and runs and beating your wife.

You're supposed to try to live it not just show it on camera

I've went to school for psychotherapy. I simply understand that analyzing human character and souls in any meaningful way is incredibly complex and layered, not just black and white.

Your approach is shallow, childish, and barely scratches the surface. It's almost certain that you probably don't see or understand much when it comes to anyone with any level of complexity.

You'll watch a few shorts on YouTube, read a few headlines, peruse some forums on sherdog and have someone completely figured out.

Which says more about you than it does anything else.

People love making absolute statements on topics they've put no effort into understanding, where they're privy to less than 1% of available data.

Sorry bud, you're never gonna understand much in this world, with this level of thinking.

You are very far from someone who is in any position to take the moral highground.

You are an immensely flawed human being, just like everyone else. The difference is, I doubt you've actually taken an honest look at your own life, your own shortcomings, your own mistakes.

But you feel entitled to look down on others from an imaginary pedestal in anonymity.

Unless you're a monk in an ashram or something, who lives a completely pure life, people need to chill with feigning this kind of fake superiority.

The tyson thing is a great example as well. He did things infinitely worse than Jones during his peak. But, he changed, turned his life around and is now a beloved figure.

But It sounds like you're ready to hold whatever mistakes a person has made against them for the rest of eternity. It doesn't matter what they've done to rectify their own lives, they will always be that.

again, it's a testament to the mentality and projections of the one judging, even more than the one being critiqued.

Hypocrisy is funny like that

Again O merely answered why there is a difference in perception between Tyson and you Jon. Sorry that hurt you so much. Clearly it struck a nerve. Probably cuz its so accurate.

Funny how you say I speak in absolutes when I literally use words like "seems"

Apparent don't know what that means though. Google it some time bud

Get off the drugs Jon. Hopefully one day you'll be a good person. Right now your just making a fool of yourself.

How ahead and double down though with your FRAT posts. I literally don't read more than 2 lines cuz the projection is egregious

I'm not that invested. I just put effort into analyzing things. I don't think you do.

All I've been doing is just trying to shed light on the bigger picture, trying to make you understand that these guys are way more complex than you're ever going to understand with such black and white thinking.

The way you analyze character is incredibly shallow and you don't even scratch the surface when it comes to understanding who these figures are, what they've been through or why they do what they do.

And I've studied this stuff professionally. The way you think is just mediocre.

You can't approach people in such a shallow way and expect to understand them.

Same is true for countless figures in Hollywood or even humans in general.

Let's say I highlighted all your drunken mistakes. All the times you argued with your girl, yelled at your mom, talked shit over the internet, in real life.

It's very easy to paint someone as the villain.

But do you think all of the horrible things you've been involved with in your life define you?

No.

It's like saying that all the good moments where you've been a good friend, son, lifted up your family or community defines you.

People aren't just black and white.

They're all of those things combined and more.

You treat humans like you're voting in a 2 party political system, just like half the other low iq fools on the internet in these comment sections and that isn't how things work bud.

Nobody is just one thing and not the other. Humans are complex, multi faceted beings.

Nothing in this world works that way. Not if you actually want to understand anything with any sort of depth.

All I'm trying to show you is that it's much deeper and requires a LOT more thinking and effort. That's all.

don't know much about Jon Jones but if he's talking bible stuff, usually, to me, that's a sign of someone hiding behind religion, just my personal experience and it's every one who does that of course.

Did Mike ever admit it ? Was he drugged and drunk ?
Is it proven without a doubt ?

Mike is a geniune person on youtube. He speaks from the heart and people love him. He didn't forget who he is and stayed humble.
Mike will forever be my man. I tell you, when Logan spoke disrespectfully to Mike after the Jake fight, I wanted to reach throught that screen and take that mother down. Mike gets love, if people think he don't deserve it, fine but he gets it anyway.

Mike Tyson is a sociopath with a high level of charisma, these types get away with absolute murder. Jon lacks the natural charisma that Mike has.

all true, I say that about some of the guys I've loved who've been filmed or seen go through stages where they are absolute jackasses. I always say to people, "would you like a camera following you everywhere at that age and being show forever?" But also, isn't that a good reason to behave yourself too? I don't know much about Jon but whether I want to or not I hear about some drama with police or drug problem. When it's nonstop, that's when there's a problem. Mike Tyson was very unpopular in his prime and always in plenty of drama but many of us felt he was ours, he represented us and when I say us I mean the forgotten, the ones who never got a chance, he was our champion and that's not to forget that he was supposed to be our version of Ali, Dempsey and Louis (didn't work out that way). And for all of his faults, I don't think anyone ever thought that there was no good or no redeeming qualities in him. He gave a lot of his money away just like all our great champs have done, without media attention and it went both ways, once he was broke, i read some drug dealer gave him 90 grand. And now that he's basically a harmless old man, his better qualities are all that's left.

he definitely don't have the charisma.

one thing you're right about is, people sure love to just judge and label someone. Happens to all of us. How many ended relationships do we all have where the other party or maybe you are throwing around labels like "narcissist" or "sociopath". If there are such things, I would think it's a lot rarer than all the times those labels gets tossed around. I was once talking with a boss I worked for and he said something like 5 percent of the population is sociopathic, I told him according to my Native American background, it's more like 95 percent. The whole world is sick if you really think about it. Money, sex, power and the exploitation of all things to those ends, natural resources and human resources and we even do the shit to ourselves and our families.

They were setting up another big pay day for Mike, just show business.

Mike was trying, I don't think he realized how little the public would want it after that. I thought it was a bit pathetic and sad, but I was pissed when logan said he'd hurt him or whatever it was, I wanted to throttle him. Point is I felt protective of the guy who gave me a lot when I was a young fan.

I've wondered things like this before, Tyson had that case, did one of the filthiest things ever seen in a fight (the ear bite) but is largely seen as a hero now.

Why does Nate Diaz get a pass for being a legitimate fucktard out fighting civilians, the list goes on.

The only real answer is selective outrage.

Behind scenes Mike Logan are partying going to Dinner and happy bout the milions Mike and his brother made. Showbiz

Jones has poked opponents in the eyes
He’s been arrested a bunch of times but never spent time in prison. He’s the villain.

Tyson convicted of rape, served years in prison.
Is a registered sex offender for life..
He literally bit a man’s ear off. He also bit Lennox Lewis at their press conference brawl. He’s a Hero..

Makes sense..

I don't think time (alone) was much of a factor in Tyson. His public image (and imo his personality) have done a pretty heard U-turn. He's someone who openly criticizes his past self and has changed himself for the better. Pretty much any one that has followed Tyson at all the last 15 or so (+) years can't help but like the guy, or at least see that he's truly changed. But like you say, there are still at ton of people that just remember brash young asshole and a rape case.

Jones, on the other hand, has a solid decade+ plus of just repeatedly being a liar, hypocrite, shitty person, and fake Christian apologizer (to a nauseating degree), so it makes sense that he's hated on.
Yeah, pretty much the case. Every time Jon seems to have changed, it comes back that it was fake because he does something else punkish. Tyson never tried to act sincere when he was a young punk, so I think it is also easier to believe Tyson has really changed (that and he has maintained his new persona for a long time now).

People do change. If you ever work in prison for long, you see guys that are old that have sincerely changed since they committed crimes when they were young; many don't, but there are certainly cases that do with very long sentences.

A large portion of the public also didn't believe Tyson's accuser; there is even a clip of a younger Trump on a show saying he doesn't believe Tyson's accuser from the 90s.

1. Many people believe Tyson is innocent
2. Tyson is not a hypocrite. He doesn't pretend to be a nice guy while cheating, fighting dirty and abusing people like Jones does.
3. People hate fake individuals. Jones is obviously fake, he's a hypocrite.
4. Tyson usually fought bigger guys, unlike Jones, who looked huge against opponents like Shogun, whom he obviously beat while roided to the gills.
