The UFC was so much better when Mike Goldberg was a commentator. Fights just felt way more exciting. You knew you were gonna hear him screaming "It is all over!!" when a knock out happened. Anyone else miss Mike Goldberg as commentator?

Mike Goldberg was truly the Michael Jordan of MMA commentating

his voice was great, also humble man, but his knowledge was awful. He just tried to say something without being wrong, and repeated a lot of stuff. I always felt he didn´t really enjoy the fights. So good that we got other commentators. But his voice was amazing.

He wasn’t the color commentator, Joe was. He was the play by play announcer type.

Joe rogan

Would love to watch a Goldberg, Drunk DC, and Jon "Let's look at who here's whose dealing with pending felony charges in this fight" Anik commentating. Would be a dream, but no script for Goldberg, he has to do it off the cuff, and when he has to shill a product or film they don't even describe it in his ear piece, they just yell the name of the product.

He was good. Sad UFC didn't mention on his last event that it was his last. Disrespectful. He'd been around since the early days.

regardless he didn´t understand the sport well enough for such a high position
Yeah he did it for nearly two decades and his knowledge of the sport never really progressed. It's like he was always hoping for the NFL to call and give him an announcing job. His sole focus was getting his catchphrases in wherever he could. Even Bellator didn't want to keep him lol. He seems nice though.

Fights were more exciting back then because Joe Silva was matchmaking.
