Miesha Tate

That is underselling Tate a little. Like Caraway she's a grinder and always looking to improve her skill set. How many times have people counted out Miesha and she's come back and won?! I know I have. She's solid in all parts of the game and has one thing you can't teach...toughness. Good wrestling, strong grappling, and an ever improving stand up.

That comeback against McMann was all heart. Most would have wilted.
shes a blanket who isnt hated on for being boring because shes not even a good blanket and all her fights turn into 50/50 scraps

"heart" and "toughness" are used by fans of fighters when they dont have any skills they can point to

Well she beat Holly and Rousey is pretty much retired and I like Tate against Valentina because of size and top game. And who knows about Cat with her age and injuries. My point is she is one of the top 135lbers n world
She got a hail mary once it probably won't happen again, Tates stand up has been majorly exposed. Shev would totally outclass her.

I'd rather be elite in one area and be able to get it to that place than be mediocre everywhere. Tate isn't really well rounded, I'd say Gadelha and Nunes are more well rounded they just don't have cardio. Her lack of stand up skills was evident against McMann and against Nunes. She didn't really trouble Holm at any point on the feet either.
Gadelha is good and JJ's only real threat.

Nunes has improved her weaknesses, but as I said some athletes are more gifted than others and they can pick up skills a hell of a lot quicker.

It's not a debate of elite in area vs being well-rounded. I'm just saying that well-roundedness allows miesha to exploit fighters (like she did against Holm).

Yes, she didn't really trouble Holm standing, but she didn't look completely out of place. Which in itself is a feat given Holm is a world class stand up fighter.

The better athletes like Nunes have past her, but she can still beat anyone in that division with the right gameplan.

Miesha isn't coming back. Nunes stole her soul and she retired now.

She's not really well rounded though, her striking is atrocious. She's just one of the only people in the division who can scramble and also shoot competent single and double legs, even if they are kinda half-assed.

Tate has an amateurish skillset, everybody called Rousey mentally weak but Tate crumbled as soon as the pressure was on her. Rousey defended her belt 6 times and embraced being a superstar, Tate became champion then crumbled in the main event and instantly announced she was emigrating to Canada.
Mental toughness my ass. Purple pillow Ronda had an edge over the women just like the Gracie's had an edge early on in men's MMA. It has nothing to do with mental toughness. Ronda got exposed and went straight to her pillow and her blankie. Meisha is much tougher mentally. She has no edge over the women at all. She has no great skills and no great athleticism yet she managed to win the title over a solid opponent in Holly Hold. There is no comparison between the two. Meisha is much tougher mentally than Honda.

Exposed? Anyone who can spell mma knew that Tate's weakness was standing. And yes Valentina would surely outclass her standing. That does not mean Tate could not get her to the ground, maybe not. That is why it could be a great fight.

Everyone knew Tate did not have good stand up. She has struggled with it for years. I also think Tate/Val would be a great fight. Of course I would root for Shevchenko.

Her striking is only "atrocious" compared to Nunes, Holly and a handful of other female bantamweights. Her striking is excellent compared to 99% of female mma fighters. How can fans make such ridiculous statements.

No she isn't, she's not mentally tough enough to avenge a loss. Not mentally tough enough to evolve her game. Not mentally tough enough to compete at a high level in a different sport. Not mentally tough enough to want to beat Rousey. She isn't really mentally tough at all, she just takes beatings because she doesn't have a choice. She literally quit as soon as she realised her dream and made her first 7 figure payday.

Going to disagree with you here. While she has improved, it is still pretty basic, and whenever she goes to strike, she forgets all about striking defense, which is, IMO, just as - if not more - important. Footwork is rudimentary at best as well.

She is a grinder, great in scrambles, and while not the most technically proficient grappler, will snatch a sub out of nowhere (Kedzie, Coenen). But striking better than 99% of female fighters? I disagree.

Her striking isn't excellent compared to anybody, really sloppy offence and even sloppier defence.
