News Miesha Tate says that she spent 98% of her return fight purse covering training expenses

I'll be 38 in 10 days, and don't really plan to make it past 50ish.

We can put an account bet on it lol?

Who's spotting me the $200k!?

"Who's spotting me the 200k?"
Depends if/how much life insurance you have.

Yeah, what you make is important, but it's also how you manage it.

He does have a point tho, it doesnt make sense than a 200k purse barely cover her expenses, how much was she expecting to make, 400k?

She probably forgot to mention that she bought a brand new fully loaded SUV as part of her training camp or something.
200,000, minus taxes. Also you have to pay your corner 25% of your purse(because they have to be reimbursed for all the time they put into you). Now she’s probably down to just over 100,000. Add into that the extra cost of the food and training camp. Oh… and let’s not forget that fighters only fight 2 to 3 times a year(if they stay uninjured). i’m not sure how much money you make but say you train for a fight for six months. Enough money to cover your rent/mortgage, food, day-to-day expenses, transportation, travel, stuff for kids, exactly how much money do you figure that leaves?? I suppose if a fighter doesn’t have any children when decides to live at the gym they can probably keep expenses low, but Miesha is a grown woman with a family. She’s been out of work for over a year. I’m not sure how much money you all make but I know I couldn’t live on that.

Why 50? I've heard many people say 70 but never 50

I live in another country, 100k is 4 years salary here, the point is the 200k almost in total went into "camp expenses", we all know about taxes and paying other people for their time and effort, but doesnt make sense than a a fighter that is usually in camp for 2-3 months goes through a 200k purse to cover just that, now imagine the guys fighting for MUCH much less than that.

She claimed 70% of her purse went to taxes. What imaginary tax bracket is she in? Managers or trainers also don't take nearly as much as she implied. The amount she cited for food was ridiculous too. There's clearly some fuzzy math going on there.

Clearly she's exaggerating here but I imagine there is a certain bit of truth to what she's saying. She probably meant the majority of her purse went to bills to pay for a lifestyle she apparently can't afford. Just like how with some people the majority of their paycheck goes toward rent/car payment/food and then they barely have anything left over. Maybe she owes back taxes. Maybe she's behold on a mortgage. Who knows? Better yet, who cares, aside from dorks on Sherdog?

What country? I make $180,000 (140-160usd usually) and I'm basically broke after expenses in Canada. I need to move away lol
