Microsoft acquires Zenimax Entertainment for $7.5 billion

Gaming sure is an odd hobby. You guys both love video games yet you’re each arguing that the other guy games more than the other one?

I agree. It's an odd dig to make, which is why I refrain from holding it against anyone...unless they come at me with some nonsense. Especially a guy who basically forms his entire identity around gaming.

Concession accepted. Any other irrational arguments you'd like to make, sweetheart?
No, the Canuck with the Trump obsession with the gall to talk about identity issues was good enough for tonight lmao.

Have a good one.

TDS in The Arcade. A new precedent has been set.

Those are good acquisitions no doubt, but are they game changing to the tune of 7.5 billion?

It all depends on how well the investment pays off, of course. Bethesda may have soured on some folks as of late, but that isn't going to stop TES6 from breaking sales records, and if it's anything like Skyrim, making money for decades to come. And that's just one game. The potential is certainly there for this to be the ultimate power move that shapes the industry for years to come, but ultimately, these companies must deliver. We'll see.

Pretty ballsy purchase, but there's no way TES6 and Fallout still won't end up Playstation.

Do you guys think Phil Spencer demanded to see Starfield and Elder scrolls progress before inking this deal? Would that be legal or considered offensive? I just want to believe that he made sure there was some real development going on before buying ZeniMax, and if he DID...... imagine sitting on that knowledge for perhaps years while millions of people are desperately speculating.

If i can't get it in steam, i guess I'm giving up my all time favorite franchise.

That really sucks

Terrible news for gamers

What would that be? PC gamers are relatively not effected by this news. MS is pushing both PC and Xbox gaming. There won't be many(if any) Xbox console exclusives. All these games are coming to both. Sony is the only real loser in all this, and it remains to be seen how much they will be truly affected. I'm sure MS doesn't mind having a share of Sony's gaming library. As far as Steam goes, I'm sure they'll get the games. It's just that Game Pass is gonna chip away at the absolute sales market.
