Social Microdosing?

Are there any long term negative effects?

I'm not aware of any long term physical side effects - I personally haven't had any (that I'm aware of) nor have I read anything in the scientific literature or personal usage accounts I'm familiar with. The real risks, as others mentioned, are largely mental. The biggest one is that if you are at risk for mental illnesses like schizophrenia, you probably shouldn't be doing them as they can trigger a psychotic episode with potentially lasting consequences. Another big risk is doing something that can cause physical harm while under the influence (walking out in traffic etc), but that is easily mitigated by having a sitter. Depending on the content of the experience and your ability to integrate it, you can also experience depression, existential dread etc, after a trip, but in my experience and from what I've heard from others, mushrooms tend to go gently on you your first few times, if you're taking them seriously. This means no taking them and going to a party or concert - you take them as part of a ritual, offer thanks to them, and then lay down with your eyes closed for the first half of the trip or so. After you can go out in nature a bit, but again, they're not a party drug and if you treat them that way you'll get burned eventually. They may show you things you struggle to deal with, and one of the biggest causes of bad trips is fighting against the experience, but if you let go and surrender to the mushroom things will generally go much smoother. Having an established meditation practice helps immensely here, especially during the initial come up. If you're serious about trying them, take the time to grow them yourself (its really easy and actually pretty fun), and as you're growing them use the time to learn about the experience, begin meditating, figure out if you have any major unresolved issues you're not addressing, etc.

it just occurred to me to ask if you have ever really listened to the grateful dead or been exposed to them much? i ask because their music is a true and real innovatoin and a massive spiritual leap forward musically that was largely inspired by the acid tests and taking lsd.

they are sort of wrongly known as a druggie band when in fact they were quite serious about the music and about spirituality. many people, myself included had massive spiritual awakenings at their shows and it was actually quite common for their music to produce this in people weather or not they were on psychedelics.

I've listened to them a bit, but I'm not a deadhead or anything - I like a few of their songs but nothing ever tickled my fancy enough to explore their full collection. Your comments regarding spiritual experiences at their shows is probably a big part of what drove their dedicated followers. People dropping everything else in life to follow a band around seems crazy to most, but if you've had a spiritual experience and being at their shows recreates it, its pretty easy to understand why someone would do that.

they were very sophisticated people dedicated to a sincere and true higher purpose man. every time you turn over a rock with the dead it gets deeper and deeper. they have among the highest poetry found in any band lyrically, speaking of ordinary life and high mysticism and wisdom too and the music itself expands consciousnesses in profound ways. but it is not entertainment.. it is engagement.

the improvisational nature of the music, each member listening to the other and seeking to become selfless and non existent as an individual allowed for some unbelievably profound expressions of enlightenment to be expressed as a band musically. help is on the way/slipknot/franklins tower is a set of music they do and my heavens if slipnot is not an accurate musical portrayal of the journey to union. its incredible and on the tail end of a song about an unknown brand of salvation saving human beings.....

but like anything deep the music is inaccessible and requires one to listen many many times for it to begin revealing its depths.

take it and watch a movie, go for a hike somewhere safe, play video games, draw, read comics, look at photography. All of those and more will stimulate ur mind like it hasnt been stimulated since u were a child probably.

what kind of sensory processing difficulties do u have?
I don't have any, I have a close friend though who has a nonverbal son.

there could be depending on the severity of the trip or the realization that u get from it.

U might have nothing but positive trips but it is building up to ur lid exploding. Depending how often u do it.

a lot of people have the simulation realization which can be incredibly profound and disturbing.

ego death/loss is like a simulated death trip experience which can be disturbing.

mushrooms can recalibrate ur compass or fuck it up to the point where all established norms developed in u over ur life time no longer make sense or apply.

In a psychedelic state one may experience a repeating loop where u cant prove or disprove an idea and u go back and forth unable to break free of it.

there are gnostic themes of the demiurge that can enter into ur mind as well.

video games like red dead or no mans sky on the stuff is amazing. Or geometry wars. Or awesome visual movies.

the positives outweigh the negatives and even the negative experiences are still profound.

Insightful. Thanks for sharing.

Great info. Thanks bro. Can you recommend an app that can help with this experience? I found some and downloaded them on my phone. I am sure you might now something better.

I used to sell shrooms so I was eating an 8th myself if not more....90s shun.
An 8th is the most ive done, but that really is all I need. I never hallucinated on it,it just makes me percieve things more richly, and gives me a sense of euphoria that is beautiful.

Watching movies on shrooms is fantastic. I watched Inglorious Basterds on shrooms and it was 1000 times better

an 8th did not produce visuals?
Just be careful because if ur shrooms arent peak potency and then u take an 8th of peak potency it’s gonna be wild

I usually dont do a whole 8th in one shot anymore, but I have, several times. I think it just affects me differently. What I see and hear feels "richer" but I dont see what others who are taking the same time as me are seeing. They might see hand trails and I just dont percieve it like that. I was a bit dissapointed tbh. But I DO like how it makes me feel.

I prefer a shroom tea. About an eighth in a cup of tea, I use one good for digestion. No nausea. It hits you much faster and only last like 4-5 hours but isn't an all-out hallucination trip. I usually end up having uncontrollable laughing that legit lasts nearly the entire 4-5 hrs, some interesting matrix sounds/vibrations, nice colors when I close my eyes to meditate. I've actually done it before at like 4 am and by 9:30ish I'm basically completely present might bust out in another random fit of laughter for a bit but good to go.

i think they can screw with us like that. U take a bunch and have nothing but pleasant experiences that u cant even imagine the darker experiences.

smoking weed can enhance it. But i think it’s probably better to not mix it really.

Playing red dead - just thinking about life while riding a horse or GTA - driving and flying around. Very fun experiences.

Yeah. I feel a healthy routine of meditation, dealing with your own shit/trama, etc is healthy in general and because of that stuff really I'd never be worried what would happen going into it even if I just ate my face off, at this point.
