I wish rskbreaker would hurry up with making those shooto gloves and start making us all custom pink boxing gloves already

Good luck with that. The small projects I've been working on have been paying off. I think I'm almost good enough to make a pair of shootos for Tone.

^how about pink?

I would rock the pink; pink and black would look sick, but only if they said tranny instead of girl.

Just got an email from Twins. They said they'll consider changing the name to Tranny Special, just for you.

Strongly considering these as my next bag gloves.

It would of been funnier if you photoshoped the picture; shouldn't you be finishing Tones gloves instead of wasting time on here? I prefer Cletos over Twin.

I thought about that, then I realized my photoshop skills are 100x worse than my shooto making skills. I definitely should be working on his gloves....tomorrow. :)

Hey guys,

Looking for a nosebar headgear (for sparring harder with the bigger blokes and also because I found a job in retail). I wear a size medium with twins/rival headgear and was wondering what is a good recommendation?

I have semi long hair and the Twins (being of leather interior) shifts slightly whenever I get hit (still solid headgear though). Therefore, I am looking for something which is light (I like to slip alot with my style), sticks to the head and is durable (cheap college student here).

Cheers!

P.S. If possible try not to recommend JC's. I...yeah. I am looking for a headgear which can last me 3-5 years and the paint rubbing off in 2 days (as per Clamp's review) is simply unacceptable.

If you're doing boxing, and sparring with big 18oz+ gloves, the fg 2900 is really nice. If not, the Reyes Facebar is also second place with The winning fg 5000 being first.

What is your budget?

Winning FG5000 takes the cake each time, but it's $460 and might not be in your budget.

Cleto's Reyes is said to be 2nd best with $130 at Lockwoods boxing.com.

If you want custom color mexican gear, it's unfortunately that Technoir doesn't sell JC's anymore, but Zepol makes facebar headgear so you may want to look into that. PM him for prices.

Thanks for the answers guys. Yeah...I think anything above $150 at this point is out of the budget really

Death, do you have any Cleto/Zepol products? How do they compare against each other (I know Cleto is more famous, part of the big 3 etc)...

From what I saw, the Zepol facebar looked like shit, similar to the redesigned Cleto Reyes - a 1960's football helmet. I have the traditional Cleto Reyes headgear and it is awesome, smells great, fits great, vision is awesome - much better than the Rival Mexican, and the protection is perfect. My head is 23"s and is rectangle shaped and fiits perfect.

Putting the paint issue aside, I would be concerned with the density of the foam since the gloves are so hard; the Cleto Reyes has a slighty denser foam on the outside and a soft foam on the inside.

The only problem with Reyes headgear is the chin strap is in a horrible location and tends to dig into your neck. I recommend waiting until the FG-5000 is within your grasp.

I don't have that problem, and I have a big neck.

Did not have a problem either with the Old Style Nylon Bar

The chinstrap on the Reyes headgear was awful for me. It was pushing into the top of my adam's apple. There is no way I would have been able to spar with that headgear. It's too bad since I really liked the overall design of the headgear but the chin strap sucks. That being said my FG-5000 is extremely comfortable and clearly a step (or three) above the competition.

As far as the facesaver goes I honestly would just email Juan. He knows his stuff.

I'm waiting for my JC headgear in the mail, haven't tried out cleto or zepol yet. PM Technoir (Juan) and he can point you in the right direction.

I had the opposite problem with newer version of Cleto Reyes headgear. It was still shit tho.

JC headgear/boxeo gloves just came in the mail!!! I had to take the laces off because they were too short for the headgear and replacing them with spare shoelace headgear I have before I take the pictures.

So far the helmet is really heavy but wearable. The ears fit me correctly unlike my FG5000. I like the extra pad at the back to prevent back head shots. Unlike the JC gloves, the headgear has softer leather so no hardness here.

The Boxeo gloves are nice and soft, ready to spar and smell different because it's goat leather. Still gotta adjust those too.

I paid almost double the mexipost price to fedex these here in a week and it was worth it.

PICTURES COMING SOON!!!

Any extra fees from FedEx? I have heard they typically bill after delivery.
