My friend told me he did it at the airport too. I actually had a different idea, I was basically extracting the soliders at those other small camps and was just going to wait for the convoy to get to me. I figured that I might as well pick up some new troops since I was all around these small camps.

So I basically kept attempting it on the road in between two camps. Maybe that made it harder because there was no cover or something, idk. But yeah, I am not looking forward to the next mission with those assholes

MGS4 had the perfect story to end the series.

A few details were off, but they're minor gripes. Especially when comparing it to other final installments of game series.
 
Yeah I remember mission 15 is so frustrating, I ended up catching the convoy at a camp, and then killed the skulls with a commandeered APV, just straight blasting and running over the skulls with it.

Just finished the game, and honestly i'm not as disappointed as I expected to be with the ending, I also thought the complaint about the lack of cutscenes was a little overblown by some. I loved the game spent 168 hours to beat it, and I haven't touched any of the online features or begun easter egg hunting, plus I still have some Main and side ops to finish.
 
Will the PC release be after the console ones or are they simultaneous? I'm a bit tempted to get it on PS4 despite the fact visuals and performance will be marginally worse

Yeah that one is a bitch. I actually got into the LAV-type vehicle and blasted the skulls with that canon like 10 times and they still didn't die.

On my like 4th attempt I managed to sneak to the vehicle and fulton it. Got lucky.
 
Got it delivered earlier today. Went through Ground Zeroes to brush up on it and just completed the prologue now.

Lordy. If I wasn't working tomorrow I'd probably stay up all night playing it. Instead I'm going to play another hour or so, sleep then rush home after work tomorrow and cane it.
 
Interesting so many people struggled with Mission 15, I didn't think it was to hard, I did it like second try, I managed to get in the armored vehicle and started blasting the skulls while driving away. I fultoned the truck before that though, then drove away in the LAV or whatever its called.

Same release date. Only differences are when online play goes live (October for consoles, January for PC).

Awwww man I just found out Metal Gear Online comes out for PC in January! I should just get a PS4 copy in the meantime lol
 
I'm UK based.

Ordered it off simplygames.com since they apparently send stuff out early and it was a bit cheaper than everywhere.

Bank holiday on Monday so I assume normally they'd send stuff out on the Friday/Saturday if it's releasing on a Tuesday, but with the postal service not running this Monday they just sent it out well in advance to ensure I got it by Tuesday. I dunno, it got dispatched yesterday afternoon though and arrived through the post today.

Wow, lucky you. Only game I ever got early was KH2 HD remix last year. I ordered it off the Square Enix website and it got here about a week in advance.
 
Anyone know if it's possible to adjust the in-game volume? Ini files or something?

Dooze I'm on the fence about buying this game can you PM this weekend with some details on how quickly Research and development works? I would really appreciate it I have 4 kids and I don't necessarily have 1000 hours to sink into this game.
 
I played Ground Zeroes earlier. It was the first time I've ever played a MGS game, and holy shit have i been missing out. That was a blast. I'm gonna go back and try to get a higher grade soon. I can't believe that I've never tried one of these, i wish i was caught up in the story so i could play 5 but I'm gonna wait and buy the HD collection and watch the others on YouTube. Then I'll get 5, can't wait.

God damn, the "twist" this time is so stupid. I kinda lost all hype for the game.

Will I enjoy this if I have never played a metal gear game and know nothing about it or would I be better off with mad max???

Yeah, I pondered the decision for a good minute, thinking maybe it was an elaborate "if you wait a few seconds you don't actually have to kill them" scenario. Sigh.

Also, the extreme and/or total stealth missions, if your only worry is about completing them and not so much fultoning everything that moves, quiet + sinful butterfly = everything is dead anyways, you never have to even enter the area.
