I’m glad to see Merab be able to expose the way Khabib, Islam, and Umar have been able to operate (even though he would say it’s just Umar)Merab doesn't care for excuses. He fought Yan with a broken hand, fought Umar with an injured back and shin. Merab is different and lives by a different code. He was right before the Umar fight that umar didn't do enough, and he's still right -- umar needs to get to work and rack up some quality wins. You might not like how harshly he sends the message void of sympathy for your injured umar, but I'm sure that even you agree that umar needs to get some wins.
Most broken hands heal within 2-3 months, bad ones typically heal within 4. It's been 6 months already, so asking where umar is is a fair question. Get umar back in there ASAP.
People assume anyone who brings this stuff up about Khabib and Islam is a hater (I love those guys) but it’s just facts. And if everyone operated the way they do the sport wouldn’t function.
Umar just had the unfortunate luck of having Merab (who is far better than anyone Khabib or Islam ever had to fight) in his division.
I’m actually very interested to see how they deal with this predicament… you can kinda do whatever you want when you always win and you’re a massive superstar
Umar is in a much tougher situation than either one of them has ever had to be in… I hope he takes the Merab path and fights whoever and earns everything going forward rather than sitting on the shelf for a year and being handed a title shot like he’s probably hoping for lmao
He’s at the right age where he could probably win a couple and potentially catch a slightly older, worse version of Merab and be a slightly more experienced, still primed version of himself if he plays his cards right
