Media Merab: "Where is UMAR?!"

Merab doesn't care for excuses. He fought Yan with a broken hand, fought Umar with an injured back and shin. Merab is different and lives by a different code. He was right before the Umar fight that umar didn't do enough, and he's still right -- umar needs to get to work and rack up some quality wins. You might not like how harshly he sends the message void of sympathy for your injured umar, but I'm sure that even you agree that umar needs to get some wins.

Most broken hands heal within 2-3 months, bad ones typically heal within 4. It's been 6 months already, so asking where umar is is a fair question. Get umar back in there ASAP.
I’m glad to see Merab be able to expose the way Khabib, Islam, and Umar have been able to operate (even though he would say it’s just Umar)

People assume anyone who brings this stuff up about Khabib and Islam is a hater (I love those guys) but it’s just facts. And if everyone operated the way they do the sport wouldn’t function.

Umar just had the unfortunate luck of having Merab (who is far better than anyone Khabib or Islam ever had to fight) in his division.

I’m actually very interested to see how they deal with this predicament… you can kinda do whatever you want when you always win and you’re a massive superstar

Umar is in a much tougher situation than either one of them has ever had to be in… I hope he takes the Merab path and fights whoever and earns everything going forward rather than sitting on the shelf for a year and being handed a title shot like he’s probably hoping for lmao

He’s at the right age where he could probably win a couple and potentially catch a slightly older, worse version of Merab and be a slightly more experienced, still primed version of himself if he plays his cards right

Probably some sort of regional rivalries between Georgia and Dagestan. The two border each other.
It has nothing to do with that lol

It’s a dude who had to fight and claw for everything he has versus a dude who, in terms of his career in MMA is very privileged and spoiled

On top of that the UFC gifted that TS to Umar hoping and expecting him to win, you’re gonna have a chip on your shoulder when you’re a guy who the UFC obviously never wanted to win to the point where by the time you get to the title you’ve already beaten everyone in the division almost lmao

Umar is the exact opposite of that

What was the timeline of this do you know? Like was this early UFC days merab, or later in his tenure? As by the time Merab was clearly deserving of a title shot and was putting it off to let aljo finish his reign when both were still at 135, I feel like he was at a point he would have beat Sterling had they actually needed to fight. But that being said I don't doubt that once Aljo did get his back that merab struggled with it, everyone struggled with Aljo's back control. I'm just not so certain he would have gotten that position consistently in a actual fight.
Shows how impressive Yan was not to get submitted by Aljo. After his back got taken in their 2nd fight twice he denied all of Aljo's takedowns thereafter.

The judges scored their 2nd fight wrong. Yan did more damage and stuffed all but two of his takedowns. When his back got taken all Aljo could do is control him but failed to damage him on the ground or finish him.

Agree with Yan. The guy is extremely skilled.

Yes, beating 16 guys in front you and 15 of em pre-UFC is very privileged. He totally didn't prove he was one of the best in the world.

If it's a response to you; that pisses you off, it's worth liking.

I dont have to agree with it's content, I support it's purpose. (triggering you)
No it’s not lol. I’ve seen you upvote shit in threads I haven’t even contributed to. Duck and weave all you want buddy, you’re not fooling anyone lol.

Merab is “far better” than Volk? Total nonsense.
Volk is a weight class smaller and still arguably beat Islam the first time

If Volk was Islam’s size then I wouldn’t have said that… it’s a silly hypothetical, but if they were the same size Islam would’ve lost

You're talking to a guy who thinks volk was bigger on fight night than Islam. Don't try to speak reason to him by mentioning that Volk makes FW regularly and Islam never in his life could, or that Volk obviously doesn't have the frame for LW, or the fact that you have eyes and could clearly see that islam was the bigger fighter lol.

Oh really? Yeah that’s just obviously, objectively not even close to true.

In general, at least from what I’ve seen, he’s a smart poster, but it’s amazing how smart people can come to wrong conclusions due to bias.

Umar don't know how to hit without breaking his bones and you suggest to train more wrestling?
This

I learned how to punch correctly in 2nd grade when I wooped pops ass for the first time.

Over there? They use hands for milk goat nothing else

Firstly, no, he didn’t arguably beat Islam lol.

Secondly, you didn’t mention weight classes, you just said Islam never fought anyone as good as Merab. Holloway KO’ing Gaethje and Ilia KO’ing Charles, coupled with how competitive Islam vs Volk was shows that there isn’t much between FW and LW, the best FWs are very competitive with the best LWs. Therefore, Islam has fought and beaten someone better than Merab, Volk.

So if Islam goes and beats JDM does that mean the difference between LW and WW doesn’t matter that much? If he loses are you gonna consider JDM better, or that he’s a weight class bigger and the size was too much?

Obviously being a weight class bigger than your opponent is a massive advantage at this level, that isn’t debatable imo.

So when you consider that, and consider the fact that Merab is on an all time impressive run, and is already arguably the GOAT of his weight class, yeah I think he was a tougher opponent than anyone Islam or Khabib had the opportunity to fight.
