Don’t waste your time with this dude, he’s the textbook definition of a bathtub-soldier. He sees hate in every single bit of criticism directed at a Dagestani or Muslim fighter, but at the same time he’s on a mission to trash every fighter who faces one of them or even dares to exist as a potential threat in any ranking, especially P4P, just because they’re not Muslim. The irony? Completely lost on him. Beating Font, Garbarant and Vera (fresh of a title fight) should be enough. I dont agree that beating sandhagen should leap frog him.

Sandhagen basically 50-45d both Font and Vera, and would've done the same to the unranked washed Garbrant that Fig beat. Umar vs Fig was a case of quality over quantity.

obv Umar should've had to do more to get the opportunity to fight Cory, but once he beat him, the titleshot was his.

Seeing how Cory later disposed of Fig makes me especially believe picking quality over quantity was the right move.

Umar is just a better fighter, and a much more interesting matchup for Merab.

Maybe so, but he was served the most favourable high ranked match up and yes he was more interesting of a match up, but this sensationalist match making is what the problem is in the UFC.

If you just made figgy vs Merab in january, we could have just had Umar vs merab in june instead we get an O'malley rematch, and yan facing mcghee. When we could have just had Omalley vs yan 2, and the win get the shot after umar.

Umar wasn't going anywhere. there was zero reason to rush that fight. It just lead to O'malley getting a rematch because of that stupidily made fight, and making yan vs figgy for no reason.
