I like merab but he's angling hard for that yan matchup and whatever else to not fight umar again. The fact is umar won 2 rounds and broke his hand. 3/2 is really as close as it gets and it's his hardest matchup by far. Imagine if umar makes a few wrestling tweaks and improves his cardio even slightly

Both Poatan and Ali said they expect the fight to happen in October/November/December.

Poatan posted videos weighting 242 multiple times (latest today) though, that kind of gives me the thought of maybe they pull an Aspinall x Poatan out of nowhere

So, instead of angling for Yan, he should be angling for an Umar rematch when Umar either doesn't want to fight right now or is injured? How does that make any sense? Yeh, let's call out the dude who is too injured to fight lol.

I will give some credence to your theory if they don't announce Ankalaev vs Pereira within a month or so.

Umar definitely needs a fight.
