When I was stationed in S.Korea the male-to-female ratio for soldiers was 30-to-1.

Anecdotally, as someone who had pirated a lot of things, I can only think of one instance where something I pirated hurt the creators, but unintentionally.

A game called Hellpoint had an average demo, but I kind of liked it enough to check out the full game. I pirated the launch version, near day one to be sure, but never played it until a few months later. I would have bought it on Steam, but I had refunded too many games in a short span.

I wound up loving it so much that I bought two copies, as you could play coop and I felt guilty af (It was on sale, worked out to the price of one). It just sucks that I didn't buy it in the first week when sales matter most to publishers

Anyway, there's nothing I've ever pirated that I either haven't purchased, or never would have.
