Measles outbreak in Gaines county, Texas.

Any evidence that's what happened here?

If you got your kid vaccinated and they got vaccine injured, is that child abuse too?
It's an area with very high opt-out rates and all the children were unvaccinated. 22 kids and 2 adults. No way they all had legit medical reasons to not take the vaccine. And no, it isn't. It's a proven, safe vaccine.

@ColemanwastheGOAT I read a story about a young girl that died of cancer. Her parents were "Christian Scientists". They don't believe in manmade medicine, so they refused treatment for their daughter. Chemo can kill you, and certainly could a child. That argument could be made in court. Do you think these parents were guilty of child abuse?

He's going to troll you 🤣

It's science and odds, brother. My ideology has nothing to do with it.

The ideological inconsistency is you say if you don't get your kid vaccinated and they get sick - that's abuse

But then if you do get them vaccinated and they get vaccine injured - that isn't abuse.

There's no ideological consistency there. It's purely ideology driven.

Nope. Giving your child the MMR vaccine makes them much, much safer. It also, through herd immunity, makes those that can't take the vaccine safer. The chance of harm from the vaccine is incredibly minute. Science in guiding me here. Why would I want to punish someone for giving their child something that makes them safer? Does that make sense to you?

Not if they get vaccine injured.

Again, you're not addressing the ideological angle at all.
I would not want to punish a parent for doing something that statistically makes their child safer, regardless of the outcome. I would, however, consider punishing a parent that makes a decision to make their child less safe and that child suffers injury. I'm not going to state it again. That's as clear as it gets.

The actual science tells us the “safe” part of “safe and effective” mostly marketing.

Authors' conclusions: The design and reporting of safety outcomes in MMR vaccine studies, both pre- and post-marketing, are largely inadequate. The evidence of adverse events following immunisation with the MMR vaccine cannot be separated from its role in preventing the target diseases.

Dude, it’s only about 5000 kids a year that have MMR induced seizure, and only a few hundred of those who will develop epilepsy (in the US alone). It’s worth sacrificing them so that malnourished kids don’t get sick from measles.
