McGregor's biggest test vs Aldo; just another fight for the KING

Wisser_petals.jpg

No doubt Dana laid out a rose petal path to the belt for Conor, but shit is about to get real now. Conor stepped on the rose petals but he's gonna get stuck by the thorn in Aldo.

lol at comparing Jones to McGregor

Jones was getting booked properly that's why he is where is today.

Even then, he was a replacement for Evans when he fought for the title.

"hadn't beaten anyone good". My ass. People were egging on him to get a title shot forever. There was a BIG Jon Jones bandwagon believe it or not. He was an internet-darling, bigger than Conor is today.

That poster is deranged.

Jones is a dominant undefeated Light Heavyweight Champ & has beat Machida, Rampage, Rashad, Gus, Sonnen, Glover, Cormier & Shogun.......McGregor has beat Holloway, Brandao, Brimmage, Poirier & Siver.

Why on EARTH anyone would compare a current LHW GOAT and potential overall GOAT to an up and coming prospect who cuts a good promo & sells himself well.....well, I dont see his point and glad to see you dont either.

Jones is a TRUE KING, like Aldo....or Silva...or GSP.....or Fedor...

Connor is just a prospect with the easiest run to a title the sport has ever known.

McGreggor by Irish Car Bomb!

An easy way to pick out a plastic paddy is to measure their response to "Irish Car Bomb", Proper Irish will have never heard of it and be either confused or offended. Shitty fake American Irish will chug as many as possible and have a right birthday and when questioned tell you all about their "Irish roots"

The Scottish tribute Irish & some plastic paddy Northern English still sing songs in praise of car bombers and nailbombs in civilian pubs & shopping centres. I have never met a Republic-born person talk about, praise or sing about bombers & murderers.

Very strange.

I wouldnt be applying car bombs & terrorism to generalise all Irish people. Drunks? Maybe..... not contributed much to the world in medicine and science....guilty. But car bombs? Not fair.

I have Irish ancestry so maybe I am being too delicate on this.

Perhaps, the easiest fight he'd have since being in the UFC.

Conor beat Poirier and Siver to earn his title shot.

Neither Poirier nor Siver have any wins in the UFC's top 15. Yet, they were ranked so highly in the top 10 to justify Conor's overly-elevated ranking.

Conor is ranked #5 because he beat the #6 Poirier. Well who did Poirier beat to be number 6? No one in the top 15. But the UFC can now sell is as "beating someone in the top half of the division" and some of the fans will buy it blindly because they've got Conor in shiny suits.

The UFC created a paralleled route for Conor to get to the title so that they can capitalize off him and cash in on him before milking him dry for dat European money.

They did the same thing with Dan Hardy. Its not new.

This is the biggest fight in Conor's career. He's got everything riding on it. This is his moment. He believes in himself!

For Jose Aldo, this is just another fight. Hell, i've seen people here refer to it as his Chael Sonnen fight.

Good for Aldo. He deserves a bit of a breather in-between rematching Mendes and Edgar.

You're going to be in for a shock. Working off rankings to determine a fighters talent levels is a very basic way to look at things.

A lot of people fell into that trap when Weidman beat Munoz. For the most part, they have no idea how to identify talent and they'll resort to nonsense such "How can he beat Anderson?? His best win is Munoz".

People need to ditch this best win nonsense and attempt to understand talent. Conor's movement, his boxing, his timing, his power, his control of distance and his dexterity are all superior to Aldo. He is an awful match up & IMO he is going to win via TKO in the second.

Not often am I this confident about a fight. Judging by the wealth of threads like this however, people are going to be in for a surprise.

Conor is also Aldo's biggest test. Conor is the best striker and pure athlete he's fought in his career.

The only ranking that matters is Aldo, he is champion, undisputed top featherweight, and no other match-up matters except those that get in the cage with him.

You can debate all day where the others stand, but Aldo stands above them.

As far as the betting odds argument, odds aren't just about who the odds makers think will win. The main factor is how to set it up to make the best money.

If someone is widely believed to have no chance the odds are bigger to encourage bets. (GSP/Serra) When you have a challenger as hyped as McGregor, you can make the odds more even because you're expecting bets to come in on him no matter what.

Exactly. Here's a golden chance to bet big on Aldo and make bank.

Not sure why it hasn't become socially acceptable to publicly shame Cooliox. Lurked for so long, and I honestly can't seem to remember him ever being right about anything, like ever.

Cooliox is such a hater. Conor, with no defenses, has already beat the #1, #3, and #4 fighters.

Such an easy road!

Haha, vicious bump. It's pretty funny to read all of these stubborn, blinded, hate fueled anti-Conor posts.

War McGregor. The King has taken his throne.

Lol amazing bump. Surprised this guy still posts and didn't flee for a few weeks.

How'd that work out?

Conor will knock Jose Aldo out cold in the 1st round, then all those useless statistics will go to sh&t.

That was me on January 19th. Have I been wrong ye?

Cooliox is just a hater, and it showed. All this nonsense.

Conor bless his poor soul.

You called it bud, I hope you actually won some cash on that!

news flash ts - ufc is #1 a business meaning, it is about turning a profit. McGregor puts numbs in seats and ppvs. He 1 punch ktfo Aldo. Fairness and capitalism don't coincide. The liberal socialist agenda pro victim hood and everything is equal plus everyone gets participation trophies coincides in your thinking. Needless to say, it is ridiculous and doesn't fly in the real business world.
