McGregor & Dana White Relationship Unprofessional?

Other than the legend Chuck Liddell, has Dana White ever been so close with a fighter before? Especially considering how long McGregor has been in the UFC?

Yahoo is running an article talking about how last year Dana was driving Conor around in his ferrari on the Vegas strip. Then watching "UFC Embedded" episode 1, I noticed that Dana was chilling in Conor's suite, or vice-versa, as they watched the Hunt vs Nelson fight at 3 AM Las Vegas time.

From a boss to employee standpoint, do you find their friendship unprofessional, or is it something that doesn't bother you? If you were Poirier, or another top 5 FW for instance, would that get under your skin?

That has nothing to do with Conor being successful in the octagon. If Dana is paying off judges, that's one thing. But if Conor is KOing people in the first, then it doesn't matter.

Besides, Conor seems like he'd be a funny motherfucker to hang out with.

He's on his way up no matter what, and the UFC sees the kind of draw he is.

It's no secret that dana has favourites. He was a big fan of Chuck and Anderson and he always gives them special gifts.

That doesn't change anything come fight time. If i were the other competitors I'd do what poirier is doing and just focus on winning. Nothing gets you noticed faster than winning and winning in devastating fashion. Can't wait for this fight

He likes dynamic fighters, and doesn't mind hanging out with those guys who not only bring a ton of attention to the sport, but are cool to hang out with as well.

I see no prob with it, UNLESS we start seeing shady shit like judges giving gift decisions, etc.

I agree that Conor is as cool as they come. This has nothing to do with Conor's skills as a fighter or how he carries himself as a person. The question is, do you think it's unprofessional for one of the bosses of the UFC to be hanging out with one of their fighters on their off time and taking happy snaps?

If you saw your boss hanging out with one of your coworkers on their off time, laughing it up, would that bother you?

My claim wasn't that Conor was unprofessional first and foremost. In any company for the most part, it falls directly on the bosses shoulders as to whether or not it's unprofessional working relationship.

Dana likes people who make him money. Plus Conor seems mad chill, outside of his antics to hype fights, he seems like a really nice guy. Nothing unprofessional here, Dana being the promoter shouldn't shun him from having good relationships with the people that have made him netting 150 million.

One- Conor is not a UFC employee. He's a contracted worker.

Two- It's still up to Conor to perform. MMA isn't an office job where you can hide behind someone protecting you and reach the mountain top like you can in an office.
