Also people forget, Max was kinda putting it on Dustin in some of those later rds along the fence (had me nervous a few times) . Imo Dustin has better standup than Justin. Max didn't have time to bulk up against Dustin like in this fight.Every time I think about this fight I think about the clinic Max put on Ortega.
Not saying you're wrong at all but due to the amount you've been talking about this lately a part of me feels you're a tad salty about Gaethje KO and are coming up with arguments for why Max will beat him now![]()
Well it's pretty simple, Max has wings tattoo'd on his back like tony and as such he will suffer a similar fate. It’s kind of wild everyone collectively assuming Max is gonna be Tony Ferguson after this fight, interesting in a collective consciousness kind of way.
thats how a subconscious worksThat's a good point.
However, I didn't even think about that till you mentioned it. I've just been thinking about both of their styles and how that match up against each other. I really do like both guys.
Max was never a great boxer, Volk took him to school last time around, even Ortega landed on him a lot, Gaethje hits much harder than those two and he lands a lot on everybody he fights, and he already beat better kickboxers than Max, Gaethje is the rightful favorite here. And it won't be close after rd 2. The more time I've had to think about this fight, the more sure I am of the outcome. This is a bad stylistic matchup for Justin. Max's boxing is a good bit ahead of Justin's imo. Those hooks of Justin ain't getting it done imo, not against Max who likes to stay at range and throw clean straight shots. Also the odds of Justin landing another clean head kick is virtually zero (that was a once in a lifetime deal).
Justin's low kicks won't be as much of a factor as people think. Max fights at range and Justin does his damage with low kicks mainly in close. When he fires his low kicks at range he gets caught often with shots.
Final prediction, the fight becomes more or less one sided after rd 2, and Max most likely stops Justin in rd 4 by TKO.
It's one hell of an intriguing fight. No matter what happens this fight is the real main event for me on Saturday.A bold prediction, respect.
Man I've gotta think on this more. Haven't done much review yet for my picks.
I wanted to stop reading after your first sentence. We shall see soon enough. I welcome all the heat that will come my way if I'm wrong btw. It might be closer than my prediction, I still think Max wins either way though.Max was never a great boxer, Volk took him to school last time around, even Ortega landed on him a lot, Gaethje hits much harder than those two and he lands a lot on everybody he fights, and he already beat better kickboxers than Max, Gaethje is the rightful favorite here.
"Bulking up" would only make him slower and tires faster, are you pepole comparing Gaethje's striking to Ortaga's now? (btw Ortega landed a lot on Max), also Max is weak in the clinch even Poirier caused lots of damage from there, Gaethje some nasty dirty boxing in the clinch, my only concern on this fight is Gaethje's age, nothing more. Also people forget, Max was kinda putting it on Dustin in some of those later rds (had me nervous a few times) along the fence. Imo Dustin has better standup than Justin. Max didn't have time to bulk up against Dustin either like in this fight.

Name all the great boxers that Max beat, and please don't say gassed Aldo and Kattar, He got outboxed by Poirier, outboxed by McGregor, outboxed by Volkanovski and would most likely get outboxed by Gaethje.I wanted to stop reading after your first sentence. Dustin is always the nail for portions of his fights though tbf. Also people forget, Max was kinda putting it on Dustin in some of those later rds (had me nervous a few times) along the fence. That would be pointless, Justin and Max were in different divisions. It would be better to compare a common opponent like Poirier. Max was holding his own against Dustin in the later rds. Something that Justin couldn't do outside of landing the headkick in their second fight.Name all the great boxers that Max beat, and please don't say gassed Aldo and Kattar, He got outboxed by Poirier, outboxed by McGregor, outboxed by Volkanovski and would most likely get outboxed by Gaethje.
Dustin took him to school in that fight, so many pull counters and clean hooks landed l, Max got saved by his chin after getting rocked like 5 times in that fight, he only managed to overwhelm Poirier at times with sheer volume when was tired at times, other than that he had nothing for Dustin, even green Justin from the first Poirier fight caused a lot more damage to Poirier.I compared Justin vs Dustin's standup.
