Max vs Chuck for BMF title

The nickname "Chuck" for Charles originates from a linguistic pattern of forming pet names by altering or shortening the original name. Historically, Charles was often shortened to "Chas," which then evolved phonetically into "Chuck" through informal speech. This transformation is similar to other names that develop nicknames through playful or easier-to-pronounce variations, like "Bill" for William or "Bob" for Robert. Additionally, "Chuck" has been reinforced over time by cultural usage, making it a recognized and enduring nickname for Charles.

nah, everybody knows that it was invented for the Cunningham elder brother in the first season of Happy Days.

Peanuts comic was before that, so it was invented for Charlie Brown and Lucy.

I don't know. Burns just said charles was injured in that islam fight and that charles told the UFC about the injury. He mentioned some more information on it will probably be coming out soon from brazilian media, but who knows. I doubt charles is the kind of guy who will talk much about it.

It could all be nonsense, but I do tend to believe that he was injured in that fight because he looked like he didn't want to be there from the moment he was walking out to the cage.
Maybe he knew he was facing a better fighter who wouldn’t respect his BJJ credentials

Objection, your honor: Chuck Cunningham was born before Peanuts even existed.
Chuck Cunningham, if you mean Gavan O'Herlihy, was born in 1951- which would make it somewhat likely his name would have been the result of Peanuts, which had come out the year before he was born in 1950 (it was the new "thing" at the time). As far as when names were given on the show, that would be the 70s.

Objection denied.

lol

his last fight at LW was knockout of the year against a perennial top 5 LW.

He could have gotten a title shot off of that fight alone.

In a world where he leapfrogs Arman, who beats lightweights for a living.

Max is 1-1 in the division overall and he beat JG - we can run a highlight reel of JG getting stomped out. He's perennially over ranked.

Either way, Max decided not to continue to a title eliminator at lightweight and defended his featherweight belt. He got MURDERED.

Max is one of my favorite fighters of all time. It is what it is.

Oliveira does not qualify for the BMF Title because BMF challengers can’t use jiu jitsu; just strike and block punches with their faces…

It would definitely be a great fight though, but I see Holloway winning a decision. Maybe even stopping Oliveira late…

If there's grappling involved I can't really see a path for a Max victory.
