Media Max Holloway calls out Justin Gaethje

he is fucking huge for a Featherweight. Stop this nonsense. Dude is bigger than Justin fighting a weight class below. And 8 weeks is a lot of time, most camps are 8-10 weeks. Not good on the excuse meter at all.
What’s his weight? He’s not a huge FW. There literally is no proof of him being a huge FW other than him being out of shape when he’s not fighting. Volkanovski l(180lbs)weights more than Poirier(176lbs) Volkanovski must be a huge FW also.

Speaking on the “MMA Hour” show, Holloway said he was “possibly” over 180lbs when he started the weight cut. Now, just imagine though what type of hell he is going through to go down to 145lbs.

Against Jose Aldo, Holloway weighed 178lbs on fight night that took place at 145 pounds. That’s insane!

And Volk is 168-170 on fight night at FW...his own words.

I just saw a quote from Justin on fighting max I believe through mma junkie I’ll try to find it but was just posted. Justin said he doesn’t want to fight max because he likes him and is a fan of him. He said he would fight him if he had to meaning Dana made him, but he said he prefers not to and doesn’t want to punch max. Lmao. That fight won’t happen.

Max a solid dude but Gaethje hurts him worse than Poirier did!

Let's not pretend that wasn't a super competitive fight against a prime Poirier. A fight in which it didn't even look like Holloway put on the proper weight for.

I would definitely favor Gaethje but Holloway shouldn't be counted out as some scrub who's going to get finished in one round.

I haven't watched in a while (only watched it live), but I remember Dustin beating the shit out of Max, but maybe my perception was skewed by expecting max to do better

Didn’t he have Dustin hurt at one point? I could be misremembering.

max fought a great fight he just doesn’t or didn’t have the firepower for 155 and the difference was massive.
I’d like to see him fight gaetje. I’m fans of both but even at 145 his power is lacking and 155 is an entirely different game. Especially against poirer and gaetje

dustin was a featherweight himself, he wasn't undersized at all, stop this nonsense.
he was a featherweight

And became a lightweight. A big one at that.

He was certainly undersized, it was one of the stories of the fight.

This type of logic is the nonsense brother. Dustin being a former fw doesn't mean anything. He spent years growing his body into the division.

Yes, why not. Frees up both LW and FW for young guns to step up and challenge for the belts.

Its a cool fight, I'd watch.

With Volk getting decapitated and done at LW for awhile maybe now is the time for Max to move up.

Stop it, he is a skinny MF that happens to be tall, he isnt a proper LW, it showed in the Poirier fight, let alone "bigger" than those guys, by that metric DC would be a LW in this era, he could be competitive but imo doesnt have the build and he isnt particularly powerful at 145 to do well at 155lbs.

I don't see any way Max wins this. Garthje secures a flying scissor heel hook late in the fifth.
