Matt Serra: (Conor's) Ground Game is underrated

No its his cardio. He showed heart in the Mendes fight, Nate 2, Floyd, and even in his Khabib fight. When his cardio is sapped he gasses really hard. Some fighters are better at hiding it and pacing themselves than others.

4th round of Nate 2 was the best example of his heart.

To most of these house hiding forum dwellers, tapping = no heart.

Just the way it is man.

His ground game isn't bad. His problem is his heart. He taps to get out of fights he is losing
He win round 3 vs khabib. Why not tap then or in rnd 2? Why not tap vs mendes?

A lot of noobs don't realize this, but Serra is a super legit BJJ black belt, and he is one of the lots of famous black belts to say Conor's ground game isn't as bad as you guys say. Danis and Edgy Brah also say Conor has an underrated grappling game.

This has been known since day 1 by everyone except the haters or people who have never grappled

"It's not like it was. Conor's not as popular as he was a couple years ago"

Coulda fooled me. Last row of the 1st level off the floor are $1500.

Closer tickets at Conor/Nate2 were less than $500.

Yeah he came out for the third against khabib smiling, not disheartened at all after taking a beating in the second. Very similar to after the first round In the mendes fight.

Definitely has heart. Think people sort of blur the lines between gassing hard and quitting mentally tho. People also think tapping equates to no heart lol

How many people here have been gassed and tried to fight out of positions? Fatigue makes cowards of men

Conor drunk ground game is the best

He’s a professional fighter. He has more skills than any average man, but compared to his peers, he’s not a legit threat on the ground.

Underrated is super vague. Relative to what? A lot of boxers thought that Conor 'did great' or 'better than expected' vs Floyd. But that is only because they held him to some very low standards.

Most peoples opinion on Conor is skewed because of their feeeeels. But thats conor's game plan, get you emotionally involved, under estimate, then get dropped in 13 seconds. Objectively Conor has a good ground game, not the best submission defense, but whatever, he's not bad at BJJ at all. Not even close to bad

Conor can be pretty good defensively until he quits and offers his face for the squeezy.

Just because he has a questionable heart doesn't mean he's going to quit every single time. Overeem has a glass chin but he has eaten some huge shots and not been KOd. Conor still had gas in the tank vs Mendes, and the tide was turning. He's not stupid. And he marginally won round 3 vs Khabib. Khabib obviously didn't break him at that point.

Conor McGregor is the Michael Jordan of Jiu-Jitsu, Joe.

People who don't want Conor to succeed and increase interest in the ufc exponentially have the same teenage mindset of someone who complains about their local indie band getting too mainstream.

Nerds is what you call them.

Conor has a decent ground game but he's obviously at his best in the stand up so the best chance for his opponents is always gonna be to take it to the ground

So it would only mean something if it came from a Bellator employee huh? Got it brainiac
Maybe someone that doesn’t work directly for the ufc on their personal podcast
Or as I like to call it ‘propaganda’

It's funny how so many pros and trainers all say how McGregors ground game is very underrated and he did display that in the Khabib fight. Guys like Serra, Sonnen, Mir and many others will say that and yet........SHERtards feel they know better than them and always say the opposite. Please explain to me why we should listen to you?????

And they say Conor fans are delusional lmfao
