Masvidal V.S. Ferguson

This is the real BMF fight.
Hope we get to see this fight some day whether it be at 155 or 170, it would be The JBG's wet dream.
I'd said Ferguson by submission after wearing down Masvidal after a few rounds, but would be a war none the less.
What say you Sherdog?

Ferguson doesn’t bring enough fans to that fight. Masvidal would rightfully see that as a waste of time and a bad economic decision.

Terrible matchup for Tony. Masvidal is a hard hitting WW and Tony gets hurt often by lightweights that are lesser strikers. Masvidal would brutally TKO him.

Imagine thinking MMA fans don't know who Tony fucking Ferguson is by now.

Tony Ferguson makes guys leave the division, Masvidal had to run away from it. There's no way this fight wouldn't end with Masvidal all bloodied up and Tony finishing him.

gotta bust through that “casuals” ceiling. Masvidal’s done it. Spitting at you wife and throwing holy water on her doesn’t cut it these days.

The Tony the type of guy jokes have been everywhere in casual MMA circles for at least over a year now. Everybody knows who Tony is and if they didn't before they do now.

Tony gets dropped all the time, and Masvidal seems to have developed power out of nowhere.............

I'd bet on Mas

for all you punks saying Wonderboy had Mas freezing and shit, Masvidal is a new man since staying in the jungle for 3 months with the animals.
Wonderboy got knocked out brutally by lw gatekeeper (if that) Pettis, had the most difficult fight of his life with Vicente Luque, and has been on a downward spiral since Woodley demolished him over the course of 10 rounds.
Masvidal finds that chin early and sends Wonderbread into retirement.

Stating that Furguson is average might not be the right adjective and seem to hurt your feeling, sorry.
But we are comparing him with other elite fighters.
Furguson pressure is outstanding, his reach, pushing power, his cardio and the way he is mixing up jab and leg kicks is great.
That being said, Pettis have landed more that one good punch...
1st round was timing on one side and pressure on the other side.
Pettis almost finished Furguson in the 2nd before getting in trouble with a broken hand, a bad cut and a crazy pressure from an top of the food chain fighter.
Was not impressed with his striking against Lee either

Nobody's "feelings are hurt" LMAO. We're talking about analyzing a fighter's game here.

Ferguson won rd 1 vs Pettis. I guess I'm not sure what you were trying to say there. Pettis didn't do much in that round. Also, he didn't break his hand. He claimed he did, but a broken hand results in an automatic suspension from the athletic commission and those are publicly disclosed. There wasn't one. The reason he quit was because he was getting mauled.

Lee had a good round 1 vs Tony but not really striking. They knocked each other down but both were balance shots that didn't hurt the other. Lee outgrappled Tony in rd 1 yes. Rd 2 was standing and Tony clearly won it, easily. Finished the fight in rd 3.

Again, it doesn't matter to me if you want to think certain things that aren't all that accurate. You have that right and it sure isn't hurting anyone. But if you really want to understand how good the guy is you should rewatch some of these fights.

Maybe. He'll blow up if he beats Khabib but then he won't be fighting Jorge anyway. He'll fight Justin/Conor/Khabib rematch.

You...thought Luque looked like a difficult fight for Wonderboy? Okay then...carry on. Not much else to say here.

At 155 lbs Ferguson takes it. At 170lbs its a 50/50. Either Masvidal early or Tony late. Would be a sick matchup.

He's 35yo. He's been fighting in the UFC for almost 10 years, but he has yet to "blow up?"

And Masvidal? His popularity skyrocketed when? How old is he and how long has he been in the UFC? Khabib is younger but most of his stardom was from the Conor situation. So yeah...if Tony does beat Khabib it's pretty easy to see how his popularity could take off. Anything else I can help out with bud? I'm happy to help, just ask!

Very true, Masvidal would rather fight Conor, Diaz Brothers, and Colby before fighting Usman. I don’t blame him, get that bread!

Think mas smokes him everywhere the fight goes

Just keeps it on the feet

I do think those last two rounds would've been more competitive with Nate and Mas had slowed a bit

Tony would need to drag it into deeper waters. Then it could be interesting

I dunno, honestly I could see Mas finishing him before then though. Mas boxing, kicks, inside game, clinch game is all around better and more dangerous than Tony outside of his elbows and giant hands.

I think tony is a little past his prime as well actually, maybe. I think he looked better against RDA personally, his personal struggles may have more to do with that than physical though
