Yes but in reality the administration is holding them to insane quotas they can’t meet and they’re going after the low hanging fruit. Finding gang members takes time and there really aren’t that many of them compared to normal people that immigrated illegally. If you’re an ICE agent, you’re forced to choose to do the right thing and invest time and effort with little pay off in numbers if you go after gangsters, maybe get fired. If he was convicted wrongly then he has every right to sue and get money if its proven in court.

The deformed bullet found in the victim was simply too small to have been fired from the gun he had access to.
This undermined the whole case the prosecutor put forward.

Sounds a lot like due process and due diligence and reasonable doubt. Reasonable doubt doesn't mean he's innocent, it just means the evidence isn't good enough upon review using modern means.
