After Islam's manager confirmed the other day that Kamaru will be the next title challenger:

Fans flooded with questions about why Usman is ahead of others such as undefeated Rakhmonov with his 7 UFC wins.

Islam has now decided to adress it all and says he's not having any problems with fighting Shavkat later if the UFC decides to go for that,
but it just doesn't make any sense at the moment for him to get the shot:

Thoughts about this?

Brother spent almost a year since fighting at LW and then got a shot in a totally different division and is now telling contenders this shit haha.

But happy to fight a guy whose fought once in 2 years and only against a mid level guy like Buckley.

Im trying hard to like Islam so im going to blame Ali for wanting to get Usman the shot.

Ali is the worst thing thats ever happened to mma.

A contender can't be injured a year after winning a number one contender fight.

But he can go 0-3, have a 2 year lay-off and then beat Buckley by decision. Got it.

Shavkat is 4-0 since 2022, Usman 1-2 (at WW, 1-3 with the Khamzat fight).

Shavkats win over Garry is aging well.

Usman has beaten none of the new contenders, and now 3 of them have beaten the guy Usman lost twice to.

I agree that Shavkat needs to be more active. You can't sit out for a year and get a title shot.

Shavkat's problem is that to get a title shot, you need to fight a #1 contender fight and then be willing to fight again within 4 months. That's just how it works. If you reject a title shot because you want 8+ months off, then you lose your place in line and need another non-title fight.

Yea injuries disqualify him.

Usman has earned it with his stellar record in his last several fights

Usman took well over 2 years off of fighting at WW. And a lot of that time, he was dealing with an injury to his own ego.

He said that about Shavkat a few days ago when asked about him and other contenders, here's the vid
