International Majority Of Mexicans Want Illegal Immigrants Deported

A slight majority of Mexican citizens supports the deportation of Central American migrants who travel through Mexico to reach the U.S. border, according to a survey released Wednesday.

The survey, which was conducted by the Mexican newspaper Reforma and the Washington Post, found that six in ten Mexicans believe the migrants have burdened the native population by claiming jobs and benefits that would otherwise accrue to Mexican citizens. A 55 percent majority supports deporting the migrants before they reach the U.S.

The 1,200 person survey was conducted July 9–14, roughly two weeks after Mexican officials agreed, in response to the Trump administration’s tariff threats, to step up enforcement efforts at their southern border in order to stem the flow of Central American migrants that has overwhelmed U.S. migrant-detention facilities in recent months.

A slight majority (51 percent) of respondents supports President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador’s decision to deploy the country’s National Guard to the southern border as part of that agreement with the Trump administration.

Jesus, this was printed yesterday, and I was at their main website. It was nowhere to found on the front page. Not only that, but they report it with this headline:

Language that suggests/implies the illegal alien migrants are somehow victims of an emotional mob. The WaPo used to be a leading beacon of journalism in this country. It's just disgraceful how far they've fallen.

I find it, interesting, that when sentiments in Mexico were slightly in favor of illegal immigrants and their acceptance into Mexico or the U.S. it was everywhere. News stories and polls galore from the mainstream. Continuous "Mexico supports them".

Now that Mexico has tasted the sword, sentiments have vastly flipped from late last year to current. Yet now it's one notch away from radio silence in comparison. Interesting indeed.

Cubans are one of the most reliably conservative minority groups in the country since most Cuban in America are here because they fled Castro. They either had the resources to flee quickly to avoid communism (my father's neighbor growing up in North Jersey in the early 1960s was a well educated Cuban defector), or they were stuck and suffered through it. Either scenario is not likely to make you open to any form of socialism in your new home.

That is true. Also right now, there is a huge influx of Venezuelans, some through asylum, but a lot also illegally. So there are various areas being regentrified with Venezuelans moving in, which are taking business away from more Cuban areas.

I would have thought they would have supported them, since also fleeing socialism, but makes sense with the business aspect. Also, a lot of the Venezuelans that are coming have more money than the Cubans who came over did. OR, they are staying with people who came to South FL, NYC, Texas etc, when Venezuela was still really good, and they got their money out. So now they give money to their family and friends who have come over the last few years to start businesses etc.

More immigrant communities actually do that, but Cubans here hate it lol, as they had a strong hold for quite some time, with politicking as well.

This made me curious to how Chinese and Korean-Americans usually vote, but a quick google search gives some conflicting results and nothing too clear. Don't have the time to look into it more, but it is kind of interesting.
