But I managed to Tap a Blue Belt with the ugliest Choke you've ever seen: I caught him in a Guillotine, but he rolled out, so our heads were side by side and my arms were above my head, still holding the Choke. He couldn't get free and had to Tap. I don't even know if this technique has a name.
It shall be named the "Templar Choke"

BJJ.

Pass Open Guard. Finish in Side Control. Scissor Sweep into Mount, finish with Arm Bar or Choke.

Rolling: Three rounds against other White Belts. First was a no-score draw, second I lost 1 - 0. My third round was against a 3-Stripe White who outweighed me by 20 kilos and rag-dolled me all over the mats. I lost that round three-nil. So he's the guy I'll be looking to Roll with every time I train.

You only improve by testing yourself against people who are much better than you are.

BJJ.

Spent most of the class practicing Hook Sweeps. I found every variation after the most basic HS to be difficult to perform correctly. So did my partner, so we spent the first couple of rounds of rolling just going over the technique. Then we Rolled.

My first Roll was a no score draw. I actually Passed my opponent's Guard at one point, but could not finish him.

Second round was against the huge, 3-Stripe White who Tapped me three times in a single round last week. Today he Tapped me once, and that was because I put myself off-balance trying to Pass his Guard. It's that moment every BJJ player knows too well: you give up position and have just enough time to think, "Oh, I done fucked up!" before your opponent catches you.

Still, the fact he only Tapped me once means either he was having a bad day, or I'm finally starting to improve my game.

I prefer to think it's the latter. :)
