Yes, because they are taking entry level jobs from new grads and being trained by existing engineers only for them to be replaced, just so tech oligarch like Musk can pinch a few pennies. The STEM shortage is a myth and so is the idea that H-1B is for specialized talent. At this point America has become nothing more than an economic zone. It's not a real country in any meaningful sense and therefore deserves no loyalty from actual citizens imho.

I'm not sure how it could be done, but, if they were going to expand the H1-b visa program in the way Musk says he wants, they should have to find a way to prevent companies from hiring visa holders with 5+ years of experience for what should be entry level positions instead of training recent graduates.

I had never even looked into this program or saw this online argument was happening until Bannon brought it up on his podcast. He is an extreme on one side and some comments by Vivek and Elon were extreme other side.

After following both sides of the argument, I saw Trump actually made changes in 2020, which seemed like at least a good start for reform. Biden scrapped it tho. Those changes along with more oversight into the employers would go a long way it seems. Also keeping the cap.
