Yeah I know, but just having fans talk about you in any fight is a good thing for these guys. That's what I was getting at. It feels like a lot of fighters just don't get fans talking these days, so while I'm not particularly a fan of coaches saying too much, at least it gets people talking a bit.

Talking about Islam, the guy they're fighting, seems to be more apt. It's not like Islam doesn't have this huge raging fanbase they can needle.

JDM is comparable height/reach to the last two guys Ilia easily beat, its not like hes some huge 6'3 WW like Ian Garry. I dont think the 20lbs or so he'd have on Ilia would be enough for him to overcome the massive skill disparity either, especially considering hes not some high level smothering wrestler type who would maximize that weight advantage.

Its all moot anyway because Islam is going to beat him easily, hes just another in a line of weak placeholder champs at WW.

Occasionally, shorter stocky guys who are both outrageously powerful and fast come around like Tyson, Cormier, and now Ilia where they have the power to hurt the bigger guys, the strength to not be overwhelmed by them, and the speed and technique to get into range easily.
