Luke Rockhold: "UFC hype machine discredited Strikeforce"

Rockhold was nobody before Zuffa purchased Strikeforce. WTF is he talking about?

It was pre-Zuffa HWs that UFC hype machine would like to discredit, not weak ass MW division.

Werdum was in the UFC before Strikeforce. Barnett had fought in the UFC many years before Strikeforce.

This is a non-issue for me. I'm just saying that Strikeforce really had a great HW division. So hype machine would have reasons to discredit them more than fighters from much weaker MW division, especially Rockhold that became famous as a fighter signed by Zuffa.

Oh okay I see where you are coming from. Strikeforce gave some good additions to the UFC for sure but yeah I don't remember much discrediting of the MW division. I thought there was good hype for those fights such as Jacare/Rockhold.

Never noticed Strikeforce getting disrespected by anyone other than Dana, who always shits on everything not UFC so, who the hell takes that goof seriously.

Some top talent there for sure anyways.

Anyone else getting annoyed as I am with this guy? at this point Id rather listen to Conor talk then this guy. Some people just dont know when to shut up.

Lol

Lawler = UFC before Strikeforce
Werdum = UFC before Strikeforce

Everyone knew Jacare, Ronda, and DC were good talents.

Redhawks: 'lelllll Jon Jones = Battle Cage Xtreme before UFC.. lellll'

Lawler spent longer fighting for Strikeforce than he did in his original stint in the UFC.

Werdum also spent longer in Strikeforce than he did in the UFC the first time.

But don't let reality get in the way of mathematics... :rolleyes:

Werdum fought in the UFC before Strikeforce but was cut due to a contract dispute after he was wrecked by JDS and Lawler was also in the UFC before SF.

Werdum fought in Millennium Brawl before the UFC. He's a Millennium Brawler Bro.

Rockhold was famous before coming to UFC and three fighters from that Mw Strikeforce division were successfulJacare. And even Tim Kennedy. Rockhold and Cormier are prime examples of Strikeforce greatness along with Lawler, Werdum, and Jacare.

Werdum was in Jungle Fight before the UFC.

He's more Jungle Fight than he is UFC.

When Zuffa bought Strikeforce, Rockhold was a Challengers guy whose best win was Jesse Taylor. Cormier was a Challengers guy too and his best win was Devin Cole.

They were considered prospects still because we simply had not seen them against better guys on the scene.

Jacare was a guy from the Japan scene they brought in. Werdum and Lawler had tons of fights for other big promoters (including the UFC) before Strikeforce.

Are we also forgetting that Yoel got his ass handed to him in a Strikeforce bout with Rafael Calvac@nte? Strikeforce was legit .

He was signed to them when Zuffa was running the company.

any poster on sherdog worth a DIME knew strikeforce, wec, etc was CREAM of the crop, period.

A bunch of zuffa TARDS on the other hand, well, I can't speak for them(but I will) they thought Jim Miller was the end of be all of the LW division back in 2011 LMAO!!! need I say more LOL!

Miller even believed it himself, remember when he talked all that shit about the WEC guys and then they came in and torched the division?

So what if Zuffa owned it? A Strikeforce bout is still a Strikeforce bout. Jacare and Kennedy from Strikeforce are still better than most of the UFC division back then And Today!

Depends on the fighters and division. There were a couple Strikeforce divisions that absolutely sucked, like WW.

Nobody discredited Strikeforce, it was simply a newer and smaller organization. Once Luke made it to the UFC and beat up contenders and made his way to the top, he got his respect, yet he's still whining

The UFC basically played off of the fact that a lot of the ex Pride names they signed up were coming to the end of their best years to claim superiority whilst of course ignoring the fact that actually the UFC stars of that era dropped off to an even greater degree.

They fed the same thing to their willing drones with Strikeforce but the difference was most of the big SF names weren't nearly as deep into their careers with the org really only being run at a high level for 3-4 years prior to the takeover.
