Luke Rockhold: "I don’t lose to people like Jan Blachowicz"

Rockhold is a better overall fighter than Błachowicz. Shame about his glass jaw though.

I'm tired of hearing this.

The dude got dropped with a shin to head kick, that is not a chin problem. You aren't going to recover fully from that with a minute break between rounds.

The sequence of shots he took in the KO were not punches anyone is going to absorb undefended. Rockhold was way out of position and got BLASTED square. That isn't a chin problem by any sane measure of MMA.

Luke is a world class grappler and submission specialist with a phenomenal top game. He has above average kicks and pretty bad boxing, most certainly below average defense. If he stopped trying to kickbox so much he would be more successful.

Luke is getting obliterated so often now I almost feel sorry for him.
Every fighter dreams of having highlight reel stuffed with brutal KO's.
Luke has achieved that dream but just not in the way he would have liked.

He tried being a wrestler tho. That didnt work either against a bigger guy than MWs

He spent more time kickboxing then working on getting in grappling exchanges. We can all agree in hindsight, that was a mistake.

The better overall fighter would have better striking defense, Luke has huge problems with guys that have competent boxing, he was even getting lit up by branch, he makes the same mistakes in all of his losses, hands low chin up, never sees the kill shot coming

Huh? He spent most of rd 1 trying to take Jan down against the cage and couldnt. Rockhold looked slower as a lhw on his feet. His boxing defense is still awful and being slower made it worse.

I will say in Luke's defense, he was the more humble, less irritating of the two with Bisping. He actually consoled Mike a bit after the loss, but Bisping was a real prick after he KO'd Luke (Do you know where you are? Uhhhh...)

But if the nicest thing I can say about Rockhold is that he acted less douchey than Bisping, then that speaks for itself...
Firm, a little fiery, but fair.

The more shit ppl talk the higher possibility they lose badly.

Recent examples from UFC 239 with quotes:
  • Rocksalt KOd by Jan
"I have a harder time with smaller guys than bigger guys, I always have," he explained. "But these guys are slow, they’re not as technical. I’ll pick them apart and dominate them. (...) I don’t lose to people like Jan. I’m coming with everything I have."
  • Askren KOd by Masvidal
“I think it’s pretty easy,” Askren said, while talking about how he matches up against Masvidal. “He’s simple right? He’s got good hands but his wrestling’s not great. His jiu-jitsu’s not great. His strength is not great. His cardio’s not great. So when you break it down like that, it becomes pretty simple.”

  • Sanchez losing to Chiesa
“I need to be a ruthless Jedi who can get s--- done. That means breaking arms, breaking necks, breaking [expletive] hearts and faces. That is what I’m coming here to do. I don’t care about this guy [Chiesa]. I’m glad he don’t got kids, but I’m going to make his mama real sad on July 6. I’m coming to kill.”

He's not as good as he thinks he is. It's that simple.

Like couldn't win anymore in his division so he went up to get KO'd by even bigger guys...

Wat happen Luke

he did not had his speed
and looked like a shadow of himself
he was out of breath at the end of the first round

Considering he looked gassed at the end of the first round after failing at getting the takedown, I'm not really convinced he'd have much success doing that either. His wrestling has always been kinda meh and it was exposed even more at a heavier weight class.
