I've seen a guy your size (height and weight) bench 325 raw in competition. If you can't hit that right now, it's gotta be something off with your form.

lol, I appreciate your faith. I'll just keep working at it, I only lost 20 lbs off what I usually rep by making this change and it's essential in the long run anyway. Thanks for the help mang!

I'm thinking some changes to my bench form are much needed! I train on my own in a gym full of posers who look at you like an alien for benching with an arch though, don't know ANY cool guys in the gym that I could get to film me! :icon_neut

I honestly don't pay attention if someone is looking at me or what. If I catch them I shoot them a mean look though :icon_twis Usually I just set the camera down on something and aim it at the bench.
 
11 hours you son of a b... I mean that's good that you can do that. I think all of the stress from studying for tests and writing papers is what is affecting my sleep. I took a 3 hour nap and slept 9 hours one day after taking some sleeping pills. It's pretty glorious. I function pretty well on little to no sleep though which is kind of a plus when I need to wake up and do things, but it seriously weakens my workouts and recovery time.

Yea well, being in 11th grade isnt exactly the most stressful thing there is.

-Now I need to work on keeping my shoulders pinched on lockout. I think I may have let them come forward a little on some of the reps. I'm gettin there though, the shoulder pinch is also helping with the arch.

-Man... I really wanted to set a +20 pr but it's too soon. I could barely break it off the ground.


Notes: I recorded 295X1, 315X1, and my second attempt of 335X0. I guess I'll post it in the ol' log for critique even though it's only 3 reps.
 
Good lifting. I watched Dave Tate's video and read his book about bench pressing, I'm still getting used to the whole movement. I never realized how much my back muscles were involved in the lift.

Thank ya sir, I might have to check out that book. I have seen his video of various tips a couple times already. It seems to be a lot more complex lift than you would think. I did feel that in my back a little more today when I was doing it. I figured it was from doing so much oly lifting the past couple weeks, but maybe I was just benching right :redface:
