Thanks, do you think I need a different angle? I just sat the camera down on a bench without putting much thought into it other than it needing to be somewhat from the side.

I posted a deadlift form check video about two weeks ago here and they said that the camera angle should be directly on the side. This way they can see if you're leaning forward.

I've been lifting beltless so far this year, only because i can't find them :( i'm sure it's around here somewhere. If not then i'll probably buy an inzer, which means i have to start bringing my lunch to work..

Ahh ok, maybe I'll try to get a better angle for a form check to post in the main forum (next time with more reps). What kind of belt did you have before? Small sacrifice to pay for a beautiful peice of training equipment!
 
pulls look strong man, 335 will be yours.

Thanks man, I'm just happy that I can keep my back straight after doing 280 at the SnP meet up with a round as hell back. It's nice to be able to see the progress since then!
 
Nice work on the pulls, all things considered. Once you get past the knees, it looks like your turbo kicks in :D. Maybe some barbell hack squats for assistance work would give you some more juice off the floor.

Thanks for the tips! I found this video for the hack squats, seems like an interesting exercise.

 
So that's a hack squat. I've seen somebody at our gym doing that and had no idea what it was. I always thought it was called "reverse deadlift" lol

i'll try to find that "SKWAT" shirt and wear it on my squat day hehe
 
I've found that it can also serve as a useful warm up tool for deads, if you have trouble activating the quads to move the weight off the floor. Improving your high bar squat and doing hack squats will probably be your best friend.

-worked on these for a while and also got used to using the oly shoes. I still need to work on pushing up out of the full squat as well as keeping my knees back from the beginning of the lift.

-My cleaning has never felt so strong, is it the shoes I wonder? I only had one or two instructions on the clean movement. John Coffee helped me with my jerk and I couldn't help but crack a smile after setting a new overhead PR. That man is a miracle worker I tells yeh.

lol dude there are a couple other guys there who were power lifters first. You will fit right in! Want to go on thursday? I will be done with finals by then so that would be good for me.

-Still can't do 315 for singles arrggg. Maybe my one side of mixed grip is weaker? I'm not going to try 315 next time I lift since it seems like I need to be doing lower stuff for work sets.

Lol thanks, I think. I just need to get to 350 so I can deadlift 2.5x BW and not worry so much about the 'cookies' for now. That sucks man, I got one more tomorrow, but it's gonna be a tough one. Good luck with them there finals.
 
Bleh haven't logged my workouts in a week. Stress make me too lazy to take care of it sometimes it seems. Tomorrow's a new day! Gonna start tomorrow morning off with a jog. Also finishing up a sketch of Kira Gracie I have been neglecting... I think I started it a year ago lol. I have been lifting and running though, so no worries team.

-Easy jog, 2.5 miles. Gonna try to do a lot more morning runs like this. It's a good way to start the day.
