Goals & Gains Lug's Spear: Unleashed S&P

I'm thinking that if everybody's in town, maybe all of us A-town S&Pers can hit something up next Monday? Would that work for you? I'm gonna shoot this around to all the guys and see what works for people.

Sounds good to me. Whatever is good for you guys, my schedule is pretty flexible.

So I decided to go to gym today because my step-brother wanted to go. I figured it was good for some sibling bonding, but I will most likely be useless for the ATL meet up. Going to do my best to recover today.

I am usually pretty good about keeping to myself. I can walk right past people I know on the way to class with my headphones in and not notice them. I am working on being more observant and social these days. She must be REALLY hot to get to your focus... maybe that's why people put those spring collars on barbells.

-Most I have ever attempted today. Had some good motivation. Sohan helped me out with some useful tips that will improve my deadlift.

-Don't how how much weight it was (not a lot at all), but I did a couple sets.


Had fun at the meet up, the other guys were doing some heavy squats and jerks/push presses. I was kind of burnt out from yesterday, but was able to give DL a try. We also attacked a pizza and some chicken wings after. With these people around you it brings out the best in your lifts. With everyone working so hard you can't help but get fired up.
 
LS, you have a hell of a lot of potential in your lifts. Triple bodywt DL is def in your future.

I have one comment after looking through your logs. Why not instead of doing 4 or 5 sets of 5 at a given weight, why not just work up to a heavy set of 5, then drop back 20 lbs or so and do a finishing set? I know you're trying to get some volume in there, but why not go heavy, then drop back as you fatigue? You'll still get plenty of volume, but more importantly, you'll get the intensity you need to grow.

-These were tiring, but I think It's time to add some more weight. My lower back was pretty exhausted after squats and sohp. I had chalk in my car that Sohan gave me... prob should have used that. I had one more set to go as well, but the gym was closing so I had to clear out.

Notes: Next time I decide to squat and do DLs I will bench instead of SOHP. MCL was all healed up today, but it still feels a little discomfort now that I am done working out and resting. I think a knee sleeve might be part of my regular DL routine. Also noticed that my 12'' wrist wraps slide down a lot... maybe I am putting them too high up?

Also put in my order for Bender's Bag and some leather bending wraps. Look for some bending to be logged starting in two or three weeks.

I didn't mean it! I was only sex, I don't love her! Seriously though my sleeping schedule is destroyed. The next few days I am going to fix it, most likely not getting 8 hours of sleep. I didn't mean to miss training :icon_cry2

If you can hit 4 sets of 5 at 225 after all that other stuff, you certainly can do more weight. I'll bet you have somewhere in the range of 250-260 (or more) for 5 in you easy.

-My lower back still gets tired pretty fast. I have suspect that on the way up I am going forward. I will focus on my bar path a lot more from now on. I also gave myself a headache from doing these which makes me feel good (aside from the headache of course).

Notes: Stomach felt funny going into the gym since I feel like I am starving myself to beat WL to leanest of the meanist. Once I got the first set or two on bench out of the way everything felt fine.
