Anderson is just one of those guys... that relied on theirspeed, reflexes and pure talent his entire career.

We saw the same thing happen to Roy Jones Jr. The fastest, most talented guys with the best reflexes seem to have a SHARP drop off once age sets in, because the reflexes they relied on their entire careers diminishes just enough for the competition to catch up.

Unlike other traits for a fighter, like size/reach which can never be lost, or strength which takes until deep into old age to disappear. Reflexes usially seem like they're the first to go.

Its just normal for a fighter like Anderson. The thing he used to win all of his fights is slowly diminishing and we're seeing the results.

I still like Anderson.

Agreed. He looks like a shell of his old self. I still scored the fight for him but 2 years ago he would have decapitated Bisping in the first.

Yeah, it seems that when stand up fighters start getting older, they get much worse.
Ex. Liddell, Cro Cop, Wand, and now Silva.

Same thing happened to Mirko

Vitor? Jacare? Romero? All guys slaying competition and are in upper 30's.

It's weird to me he started off slow but found a rhythm and started dodging and toying with bisping. Hell there were times against the cage I just knew he was going to get tagged but he avoided a three to four punch combo from bisping.

First, they are talking about strikers who rely on their reflexes heavily and how badly they diminish over time. Only one of the three you mentioned is a striker and his skills have in fact diminished.

Second, only one of those three hasn't been busted for being a pharmaceuticals warehouse.

Lots of amazing things happen when you are roided to the gills, but only Vitor is a striker and he is extremely hittable as his reflexes have diminished over the years, and while Jacare has KO's and so does Romero, it is very easy to KO people who are worried about being taken to the ground and victimized. Those two are not strikers, do not rely on quick reflexes and are mediocre strikers on the best days. Powerful? Yes. Skillful? heh, never.

You Silva Fanboys are idiots. News flash, Bisping is 37, he isn't in his prime anymore either. He stood a better chance at beating Silva years ago then he did now and he still beat him.

Why doesn't Anderson move to heavyweight, they have reflexes equivalent to a 1 legged sloth I'm sure he would do well

yes i think you're right, he was getting tagged with shots over and over that he really shouldn't have... i think he has a lot of confidence in his chin and in his finishing power (justifiably) and allows fighters in to have a crack at beating him, confident that they won't... but that tactic fails if he can't find that knockout shot

Yep you nailed it on the head. His insane reflexes that he used to use to make people look silly on the feet have noticeably diminished as has his chin. It tends to not get pretty for fighters that heavily rely on reflexes late into their career. He should retire before he gets kod silly again
