I remember it was on one of the demo discs, those discs that had a bunch of demos on it like tekken or crash bandicoot.

It was 3D..I'm pretty sure it came with some consoles...it was a fighting game with weapons I think..I remember the guy on the cover had red armour or some thing? Ive been searching for hours and I can't find this game. It had to be 1st generation playstation (not ps1). I remember it was a good game too.

I know for a fact it wasn't Bushido Blade. But the game play was similar I think.

Edit: wasnt soul series either.

Battle arena toshinden or soul blade?

Vg sub-forum would be a better place for this.

Fighting Force?

What was that fighting game where you could turn into a beast? That was a fun game.

It was like Tekken, but you could knock dudes into walls and even through them I think. And you could turn into some kind of animal during the fight.

My favorite was a nerdy Chinese scholar looking guy that could become a tiger.

That is what I thought of too, I remember playing that on those old demo discs. It would be awesome to have that rebooted with new graphics
those demo discs were like manna from heaven for me in those days! Actually buying a game was a huge risk, as it was weeks of pocket money or my entire birthday or christmas gift. Good times. Really made you appreciate the games you had and enjoy them heaps. Now i just flick back and forth between games all the time and the magic has mostly gone for me.

I remember when I was a kid and the playstation magazine had demo discs in the issues. I believe it was every issue too. Not bad 5 bucks and you got a couple of demos so you can see which games were a must buy.

Battle Arena Toshinden
I owned that shizzle

I remember that was one of the first games I played on PlayStation. I had to rent the console and the game from the store. Before that I only played Sega genesis games. Shit blew my mind

Battle arena toshinden was awesome. I only had the demo disk though.

It had some guy who looked like Ryu with longer hair and a sword....and an old dude called Foe.

The demo disk also had ESPN extreme games which so fun at the time

Yes!!!! That's it!!

I got a demo disc of this game and played the shit out of it. Had to do chores and save money forever until I could buy the full game.

I distinctly remember how it felt when i got my first little PSX 'hacking' tool. A little device you plugged into that random port on the back of the psx. Something similar to the xplorer/xploder pictured below:

It enabled me to play the bootleg games you could buy in south east Asian countries, or even sometimes down at the local fleamarket stalls. It also had all these cool cheat and tricks inbuilt somehow and you could also buy books which let you activate more stuff for all the games! So good! I guess i was a pirate from way back when. Funnily enough, i pay for all PPV's now and have all the usual subscriptions (prime, netflix, spotify, etc) despite it being infinitely easier to cheat nowadays.
