The round ends when the ref stops them. The bell sounding tells the ref when to separate them if needed be.

Yes, the ref should have first anticipated in the milliseconds he had that Lombard would suddenly explode with a lightning fast punch after the bell, and then the ref with his remaining milliseconds should have blocked Lombard's missile with a stern palm of the hand.

It's not like he was relaxed, heard the bell and then threw a punch : Lombard started his combo at the buzzer so I don't see it as an intentional foul. Also it's not like Dolloway was attacked after lowering his guard, they were both still in a fight sequence. IMO, it should have been a NC.

I agree but Lombard should have won though, as you say they were both still in a fight sequence and I don't think Lombard should be punished for that while Dollaway gets rewarded.

Well, my point is more that it shouldn't be considered malicious, so a NC would have been a better choice than a DQ. To be fair, I'm not that far from agreeing with you.
