I’ve grown forgiving of the 3 losses as time has gone on. Salido was mfn Salido, nuff said, and Teo and Haney have proven their class in the current field, Loma took his lumps like a man, let his hands go, and beat the fuck out of Kambosos. That’s all LW would give him. Tank pussed out and so did Shakur, and Teo/Haney took their wins and ran. Meanwhile Haney getting dropped by Garcia, Teo making “wise decisions”, Tank losing to Roach in everyone’s eyes, and Shakur jabbing non-compelling jobbers for 12 straight rounds… obviously all of them turned out so much better not fighting Loma lolHe could never come close to the hype he got sadly. His three losses stick out really bad to me. Haney fight was really close so I guess I can give that a passish. but the other two just stick out so bad.
He was fun when he was able to fight a certain style of boxer but other times I was like "he's really good this is fun" but I feel he I wont think back on him as fondly as others.
Imo He coulda won some of those fights or maybe even a rematch or two, certain LWs refusing to mix it up with him even in his twilight years says a little about when he was red hot and his mid competition that got criticized. Maybe that’s all his team could scrape up all along. Glad he had the fights we DID get to see, but it should have been so much more.
